mines 40gb cuz im currently on a laptop however i have a 250gb external harddrive.  has anyone gone into terabytes yet?

Only a mainframe has that much. But even if a personal computer held that much memory, who would use all that?

My Dell desktop had about 36GB with only 4GB of free space.  My laptop has ??GB and has about 19GB of free space.

I have 2 hard drives running and together i have 380Gb of space. Its quite a lot but it will tie me over for a while. :)

I have 2 250gb running on raid 0, and 1 500gb. SO I guess that's exactly 1TB even.

Because the manufacturers see 1GB as 1000 MB, whereas the computer sees 1 GB as 1024 MB. Not always the case, but that's usually what happens. Incidentally 1000MB amounts to 1 GiB (GigaBinaryByte), as far as I know. Anyway, I have a 250GB hard drive, as a well as a 200GiB external harddrive, which amounts to 186.31GB.

Have 160gb but almost 130gb still free.As the size of HDD increases so the speed of computer decreses depending upon ram.

In my laptop i have an 80gb partitoned into 2 partitons
partition 1 si 60gb and its my main partition
partition 2 is 20GB and its just for my music.
Then on my Apple Powerpc G4/agp i have a 60gb
and on my imac rev d its a 20gb
