How's about just telling your mum to stay out of your business, she shouldn't be looking at them anyway.nickmagthat wont work! i am 17 she is like ur my kid i do what i want . she will always play the card "its my internet its my power" i did buy this pc . but my mom uses it all the time. she spys on me all the time . i found her on my msn a few times . i have no idea how she got my password.
lol well my folder has like 12gbs of space that would take foreverSend them to me, I shall keep them safe >_>

First of all check to see if your hard drive is NTFS. That is the only file system that you can password protect your stuff.
To check go to My Computer > Right click the drive > Properties
   It should tell you if your HDD is in NTFS.
If so You probably have simple file sharing on.
To change this go to Tools > Folder options > View
   there should be an option that says something along the lines of "turn simple file sharing on" You want to uncheck this box.
Now, you should have a security tab when you Right click a folder > then go to properties.
