How can you tell the difference between an iPhone and an iPhone Clone?

I am planning on buying an iPhone as soon as tomorrow. I got a seller lined up (buying a used phone) so I was wondering how would I be able to tell the difference if its the real iPhone or a Fake? Thanks for the help =)

They're only $100 for the 3g. Just buy a new one from Apple and don't chance it.

There is no such thing as an iPhone 2g....

EDIT: Unless you mean 2nd generation, which is actually called 3G...Then, I guess. Still, you could get a new one for less.

IMHO I would use the Apple logo on the back & model/serial #s or Get Info screen from the device itself
