How come humans can't move their ears?

I am pretty sure none of the great apes can, although monkeys can. Just a process of evolution I suppose.

We can use our hands to swat away anything that might bother us in that area, so why would we need movable ears?

Because of the angle our ears acheive fixed, their is no need for them to move.

Plenty of people can, it's just that we don't particularily need to, so people who can't haven't been at a disadvantage in terms of survival.
