how come like, some people like, can't stop saying like?

is it some sort of brain deficiency? can they simply not form a complete thought and then turn it into a sentence?

i just notice this with my sister and her friends, sometimes you don't pay attention to it but i actually listened one day and some of them use this conjunction up to 5 times per sentence.

is there an actual scientific explanation?

i was like going to the store and like, i like went into the store and my like friend, we like took of our jackets like this and like we up to like the counter and like liKe lIKe LLIIkE LIKE OVERLOADDD

I think its just if you say somthing enough, you begin to say it without thinking.
Such as, i tend to go "lawl" in real life now, cause i started saying it. (though i pronounce it more "lul":P)

So, I'm sure there's a scientific explanation, but to sum it up, your brain just soaks stuff up.
