I'm only 18, but I have glimpsed into the past before and seen some truely great songs that are completely unparalleled by today's mediocre standards. With songs like below compared to pop music now like Lil Jon and The Ting Tings (etc) its almost sadly positive that we will never have an EPIC ballad or rocktastic anthem again!

Here are some precious memories of an age where the word "anthem" meant something:

Journey - "just a small town girl .... living in a lonely wooooorld .... she took a midnight train going an-y-where"

Bon Jovi - "Living on a praaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayer"

Foreigner - " ... I want to know what love is"

Lionel Richie - "Hello? Is it me you're looking for"

Spandau Ballet - " ha ha ha haaa ha..."

Meatloaf - "Like a bat out of hell i'll be gawn when the mornin' comes!"

Bryan Adams - "Got my first real six string....those were the best days of my life"

Queen - "mama mia let me go!"

Survivor - "Rising up, back on the streets ..."

acdc - "highhhhhwaaaay to hell"

Don't Stop believing should be the national anthem i swear.

I'm sure they were saying the same thing back when the songs you listed were released.

Back then Music was made to be remembered. That was why it was made You made money by making songs that were remembered. Today bands makes songs that will sell at the times and make them money. but they won't be remembered and that's how it works today.
