Hi every one, actually I am like most of the people in this forum a hard core gamer but I don't spend so much time in playing games,I actually spend between 1 to 2 hours per day and some times not even playing.

I am not thinking about playing games when I am at work.

my real problem is that I always watch games videos on gamespot and other websits and look for the news of it all day, sounds wired I guess but its my problem which I really want to stop.

I am 23 years old and I would love to quit doing that ,I would like people to help me with them experience.

Thanks for taking the time to read my problem

My brother does the exact same thing, He excuses himself by having OCD. When it pisses me off, I disconnect the power plug for his desktop.

I never realized what a fantastic brother I was. You should get someone like me who is easily annoyed with obsessive compulsives revelling in their oddities.

Lol I'm like that too. I seem to spend more time here than actually playing games. Not that I don't like gaming anymore, I still do. It's just that this place has this something that keeps me comming back lol. Well this place and other sites like n4g and stuff but I come here the most.

Yeah, sometimes I care more about games that are not coming out for months, even years than games that I already have and have not finished yet.

An easy solution is to find some different sites to visit, ones which are not video-game related, and spend time on those instead.

Turn off your computer and only use it once a week. Might not help you quit entirely but at least you're limiting yourself.

Replace it with something else, like knitting.

Actually some times when I watch the game videos so much I feel that I already played it and don't need to buy it

For what it's worth, the reason you'd rather hear about the games rather than play them is that people get more of a psychological reward from anticipation than they do actually doing or getting the thing that they want. Now that you know this you'll probably catch yourself falling into that pitfall in a lot of other areas of life.
