Because it is there... because that's how you are posting this on an internet forum, and getting responses, and you are breathing, and you can think, speak, walk...
In my opinion, I just leave the topic alone. It's very hard to investigate about it, so just leave it at that. Oparin's theory makes some sense but again, it's just a THEORY, meaning that it's just something that could be.
We're here because we're here. But I'm catholic, so I prefer creationism. The World is here because God wanted it to be here. I respect other people's points of view though.
Because the magical atheist fairy said so. lock.JLAudio7Wow, you don't know the answer so you insist a lock? How about just don't post and leave? :|
He lied.
EDIT: I looked it up, and I was confusing it with something else. I guess I should look before I leap next time...

Miller-Urey Experiment?CptJSparrowThanks, I'll look at it.
Edit: Okay, that is what I was looking for. That was the purpose of the thread, now you people hwo insist on turning it into a thread about "OMG another one of these" can do so if you want. You're only making it grow.

That wasn't the point of my trhead. Like I already said, CPJSparrow posted what I was looking for. I even said the thread can die now for all I care because my question got answered( although it of course isn't a definate solution, for my purpose its fine)[QUOTE="CptJSparrow"]Miller-Urey Experiment?MrGeezer
Life wasn't created in the Miller-Urey experiment.
It demonstrated that the creation of life is possible from inorganic compounds, given enough energy...basic RNA structures were formed, and DNA in subsequent experiments (by Joan Oro).Anyone ever heard of Redi's experiment on Spontaneous Generation? Help me out if you any of you took in advanced sciences classes in school ora nything.DivergeUnify
Spontaneous generation is a very specific term that refers to the spontaneous origin of life. Redi (and other scientists including Pasteur) performed various experiments that debunked spontaneous generation.

Might seem like I'm nitpicking, but let's not exaggerate here. I say this not as a creationist, but as someone who agrees that life arose through natural processes. If we exaggerate these sort of claims, creationists are gonna focus on that and try to pick that apart, and that's just going to persuade people who are on the fence from joining our side, the side of reason.

Fair enough. The most important thing--and why I mentioned the experiment--is that it's the closest humanity has come to answering the original poster's question. It does not, of course, prove that it did happen, or that it continued into life itself.[QUOTE="MgamerBD"][QUOTE="tman93"]Sigh....

Thats what I'm asking. If life couldn't arise from non-living matter in that experiment, then how do you get life int he universe.I prefer "In the beginning, God created..." over "In the beginning, there was nothing, and then nothing exploded into everything you see here today!"Dutch_MixThats perfectly acceptable. I wish I still believed in God, but for some reason I just feel like I'm lying to myself when I say I do. If a person believes in God, though. Continue to, I would rather believen something over "we came from dirt" but I just can't :(
