in its current form valleyspeak may not be as exaggerrated as the video above, but it never really went away either. I reckon in every english-speaking city in the world you will find people that talk with this dialect. its still strange to me to hear valleyspeak so prevalent in new york, especially when native accents like brooklynese is dying out. how the hell did it spread so fast? is it hollywood's fault?

Living in SoCal at the time valley girls first came into being, I heard in enough back then. I was always thinking that they are the stupidest things around then. I believe that they are the reason for blonde jokes becoming prevelent. :shock:
