I believe I first came across it when I was really into Pokemon(like 10 years ago). I was obsessed with the American Release of Gold and Silver Version and this site kept me well informed on the details of its release. So what is your story?
In 2002, in the first few months of grade 9 me and my friend were obsessed with the releases of Star Wars Galaxies and Halo 2, so we discovered GS for all the information we needed. We had computers in my business class, so we went on during class all the time.
Don't think I used the main forums (used the seperate game forums for info) until about late 2006 though..
I had been to the website a few times reading reviews on games that I was planning to get. I joined randomly one day and tried the forums out. Ah, those were the days.

About 7-8 years ago I was looking for video game cheats, and I found Gamespot on Google. I came here occasionally for game hints, then discovered reviews! I've been a regular user for about 5 years, but I just got around to making an account 2 years ago.
I can't even remember. I think I might have found it when looking for cheats, and then later discovered the forums, read them for a while and finally signed up.
