I had a resume online, someone in HR at my employer saw it, set up an interview. I had two phone screens, then came into the office twice for interviews with 7 different people for a total of about 6 hours, then got an offer about a week later.
i've been at mine for a few weeks now. i applied like 4 times before anything ever happened. i just went and talked to a lady there and there wasn't much that happened, she scheduled me an interview and i had it and that was pretty much it, i took a drug test but i passed it.

Walked to the store, asked one who worked there if they needed some extra help. He said yes, but that the owner of the store had to fix this about hiring new employes. So I returned 2 days later with a small note about what I was doing for time being, he looked at it then hired me.

Elevator operator? That was my first guess. But think about it, You wouldn't need special physical tests for that. Pushing buttons all day gets tiring for most people. You just don't realize how much work it is since you've built up a ton of button pushing stanima from playing video games.
I'd applied for over 50 jobs in the summer and didn't get a single call. A guy at the temp agency my mum used to work under owed her a favour and she mentioned that I was looking for work and a week later I was at DRI doing admin :) I'm still under the agency, been working at Tickhill for the past 2 months and they've extended the contract so I can stay another 3 :D
