BBs shoot metal. That's the only difference I guess. Try telling your parents that you'll always use proper gun etiquette and proper protection when handling and playing with the guns. But if your parents are anything like mine, they're probably set on not letting you get it anyways :(They think It's dangerous, and If I have one, someone, or something will get hurt. How about you get a job and buy one yourself?JML897
I live in my parents house and they wouldn't let me get one even If I got it with my own money.
If you're having to convince your parents to buy one for you i think you're a bit young for airsoft ;)
Why do you want one? I mean, I don't understand what kids do with these things. Anyway, this video should give you some information.

so if I get one, I'll become raiden?

bb guns can't look like m16's
Ehm, tell them it will encourage you to get more fresh air every day and that it will teach you a good lesson in concept of responsibility. If that doesn't work then tell them that you've heard weird noises out during night time and that there might be rats running around in your neighborhood.Hungry_bunny
theres a stray cat in my backyard, and they still won't get me one.
BB guns fire metal while Airsoft fires plastic, BB guns mostly have a higher feet per second unless you buy some uber upgraded$1000 airsoftsniper rifle. Really as long as you have eye protection/face protection you'll be fiiiiiiiiiiiiine...Hopefully.

You know, it's not the end of the world if you don't get one (I don't understand why you want one anyway)... but you could always use this opportunity to act really depressed and ask for something else that you want equally much but is a wittle bit more expensive, they might give That to you since they've already said "No" once.I hate them. I got shoot point blank in the eye because this muppet was thinking he was all that. Went to turn the safety on, caught the trigger and BAM plastic bb in the eye. I was lucky as it hit the tear duct and not the centre of the eye otherwise I would of been blinded. Then I broke that guys nose afterwards so all is well.

it's the guys fault not the guns fault
Most airsoft guns are made to look like replicas. This means that you need to transport them appropriately, you can't use them unless you're on a course or out of city limits, etc (though laws differ). I've heard stories of people getting their airsoft guns taken away by the police. They're more expensive too if I'm not mistaken. A lot of them are like $600 or $700.
I don't actually own one, so maybe I'm wrong about a few points.

If he didnt have the gun then it would not of happened. If the guy didn't have an IQ of -3, that wouldn't happen.

If he didnt have the gun then it would not of happened. If you where wearing proper eye protection (which you obviously should have been doing because you where near a projectile weapon) it never would have happened.
So congrats, it's your fault. seewutididthaar?
Close range it has killed people.clembo1990
Ummmm... No. Maybe it's killed a dead turkey. Other than that...never.
you could just listen to your parents and try to understand that they know what is best for you because they have already been your age and grew up around others who made mistakes (and possibly they made mistakes also) and that they know what to do to help you avoid such mistakes.
this poor fella only wishes his parents were as good as yours

I'm not an Idiot that will look down the barrel of a gun.
Join an airsoft club so you will have a good reason to buy an airsoft. My brother joined one had my dad bought him one. Besides airsofts are expensive if you plan on buying all its accessories scopes, lasers, flashlights, grenade launcher etc. not to mention has if its gas powered or spare batteries. If or when you get your parents to buy you one you better start saving for above ^^.Or you can buy your own.
I don't think you're gonna get one.
I would probably buy it on my own, and just hide it. But that could be dangerous if you don't know how to handle it.
You could try and tell your parents that you'll probably buy it whether they know or not so if they get it for you they can at least make sure you don't hurt yourself.
Thats a very risky move though.
**** no. I remember walking through the streets one night and some jerks driving by shot me in the butt  No other uses but to mess with people I say! >_>

It was at a friends house, he was messing around with it. Am I supposed to wear eye protection all the time.1. If you're still begging your parents, as a poster above said, YOU ARE TOO YOUNG FOR AN AIRSOFT GUN. They are made for people 18 and older! The lowest age I'd say one should be allowed to possess one is 16, and only if they're really mature.
2. If you want an airsoft gun just to have one, you're doing it wrong. People buy airsoft guns to skirmish on private fields or in tournaments. If you have no interest or access to these, it isn't worth buying an airsoft gun. It'll sit in your closet and never get touched.
3. That is, if you aren't stupid. If you plan on running around your house with a mock M-16, shooting cats, neighbors, and all the other joys of suburbia, I can assure you the police will be called, and you may be sued depending on the damage. When people, or cops, see an M16 in someone's hand, they're going to believe it's real by instinct.
4. Since you're begging your parents to buy you an airsoft gun, odds are, if they do, they'll take you to Dick's Sporting goods and buy you the cheapest POS available. No true skirmishing airsoft player would be caught dead without a quality airsoft nameplate like Tokyo Marui, Classic Army, G&G, or KWA. Odds are, if you spend less than $150 on an AEG, you are buying a pile of poo. Most high-end guns start at $200+. I remember paying $310 for my G&G AK, which has so far seen eleven skirmishes.
So please, if you're not old enough, don't have the money, and don't have the proper facilities in which to play, don't buy an airsoft gun. And if you're thinking "me and my buds will just play in the woods," remember lesson #3. If one person finds you running through suburbia or their woods thinking you have an Assault Rifle the cops will be called. And you'll join the legions of little kids ruining the sport of airosft with acts of immaturity.
