Is it possible for me to delete my account and if so, how do I go about doing that?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Oh yeah. He's a real force to be reckon with, that one.
I'm pissed because my David Frost post was deleted without cause. I tried contacting the mods but I keep getting error screens for some reason. It didn't violate any rules, which tells me that the comment was deleted because someone didn't like it. Well hell, all I do is post comments that folks don't like and catch hell for it; expect this time, something I post can simply vanish like it never existed. I also don't like the fact that I have to allow a google script so that I may write text.
I see, you're just desperate for attention. If you really didn't want to be part of the community anymore you'd just leave. Instead, you'd rather just bitch and whine and have people pay attention to you.
You just paid attention to me. Is that my fault somehow? I mean, let's say for argument's sake - for argument's sake - that I created this thread just for the attention. Who cares? Better question; why do YOU care? Ahh...you see? That's something to think about.
Maybe it was an error. I would wait and see instead of making a scene
Yeah well...we'll see.
Just leave the site be like i did. I hadn't posted here seriously for like a year, I only knew about the new GS by looking at their youtube channel's spotlight video. So I decided to come and take a look.
MAYBE at some point in the future you might wanna come back and then you will have lost your profile (if it matters to you). By that time time you'll realize your mistake.
Don't delete it, just leave it.
@ZEYAAM898: Yeah, I'll leave it. Who knows? In a year's time, GS policy might improve...or not. Better to leave it just in case.
You can contact customer service and get your account deleted. Not sure how that works now but that is how stuff like this is usually taken.

I think me too i will leave...the all site is a big mistake now...broken,missing things, new realeses are messy...this is not my gamespot site, this is a joke...i was from 2005 here...i think i'm gonna cry but for me gamespot is dead with this...change...i want the old site back!!!
I looked into the so-called deleted post and it's not there at all - not deleted (mods can see deleted posts after all), it just never posted properly to begin with. If by deleted you're referring to the bug that causes all text to disappear from your post when posting, causing a blank post to appear then well it's a bug, one that is sure to be fixed at some point alongside all the other bugs (and missing features) the new site appears to have. In that case you just edit the blank post to include what it was initially supposed to in the meantime - it's annoying yes, but it's not like you're the only one affected by it.
The other possibility is that you posted it during the transition period - ALL posts made during that period disappeared (entirely, no longer in the database), as the data was taken from the old site, then moved to the new one while the old site was still up. In which case again it affected everyone.

I think you're thinking of JYounginyears, who posts that he's leaving every couple days like some kind of dumbass.
@andruxandd: funny, the gamespot we just changed from was not from 2005, there have been a couple site wide changes since then.
There's this neat little feature called Contact The Moderators. This is something you should try.
Heck no .. that feature is always used inappropriately. We mods do not have the power to delete accounts or fix the sites or any of the reasons that half the users use this feature for. That feature is mainly for clarification of moderations or if you guys are in dire help and need a situation resolved ASAP, with things such as forum invasions etc.
Deletion of accounts is only possible via administrative staff. But even then, it has always been advisable to just lock your account with a random password. Just in case one feels they would like to return, they wont lose all their content. (recoverable with 'forget password')
@mystic_knight: Or they could you know.....just log out and not come back.
They could ^_^. But they never do, hence why they always ask us to aid them with their first step.
Gamespot and in some cases other websites are like an opioid. Once you get in, its an addiction you can't easily give up on. Slow Rehab processes are required to assist the affected people

I now view GS regulars as unstable addicts.
It explains a lot of their behaviors.
@mattykovax: i know the changes make it to gamespot from 2005 till now and those changes was good and like it but now...all is promiscuous with missing parts, really...maybe in a few weeks will be better and hope for this if not...there are many sites like gamespot and for those who manages this site is a pity that some users leave the site because of bad management of changes...look it at the new releases category, how it was, the game appeared on the weekend comes out, the exact day and now not understand what realesed and when, are only a few games without exact date, is not for weekend realesed is mixed...need a revaluation, really...still, the hope for better is there maybe you change something...as it was
Please dont do it man.
Does it really matter to you if he leaves? Granted OT is a wasteland now with very little or no traffic. Which is sad to see. And we can't afford more people leaving....but if he doesn't want to be here.....
@LJS9502_basic: he doesn't want to be here due a misconception of what happened. Or maybe he let beans get the best of him.
Well...this a little embarrassing. So it was a possible glitch? If so, then I apologize to the mods for any accusations of malice on their part. I got paranoid and thought cbs was up to no good. I still don't like having to allow the googleapis script in order to type but I reckon that's a cbs thing. So again, I'm sorry.
And to answer your claim, dave, I'd sooner get hit by a bus than to allow any user with a lame, belligerent drunk gimmick to run me off simply because his feelings were hurt almost a year ago; especially if the site's new rules work in my favor.
