You'll have to download some kind of program (just google "ipod to computer transfer" for a million options). Legally speaking, you'll (probably) have a hard time finding one for free, sorry.

I know this isn't helping you now, but it will later on. Invest in an external USB harddrive. Keep ALL your media (especially purchased DDs like itunes songs) on your external harddrive. That way, when your computer crashes again, you can simple upload your media from the HDD without having to worry about finding any kind of program. Also, it's always good to have more storage.

The only way I know how is to just sync your iPod with your new computer (if you use iTunes). It will keep everything on there, except songs off of CDs/

IMHO I believe that you will have to re-sync the iPod with iTunes on the new setup

There are many programs out there to help you with that. Just google it. I use the Winamp Ipod app thing but i suggest to avoid that one >_>

If your ipod is one of the older versions where you can put it into disc mode there is an easy way... I think you hold down menu and the middle button comes up, then hold down the middle and play button... i think that is how.... then you just plug it into your computer, find it under my computer then show all hidden files in folders has to be on, you find the folders with weird names like al83 or random letters and numbers... those are your songs, just move all those onto your computer, then into your itunes library. itunes will rename the songs to their correct names... if you want to have the names of the songs out of itunes you can download something called mp3 namer.

This is what I do. I have my big 500gb and I've never had another storage problem since.

It might have something to do with iPod Touches not being able to be used as an external harddrive like other iPods.
You might have to find another program to enable HDD usage or something,
though I could be wrong. :/

You can use 3rd party programs, but once the files are on the computer, the filenames will be messed up and it will be difficult to organize them unless you use a program like MP3Tag to create easy filenames from tags.
