Religion is not just scripture and scripture can be interpreted metaphorically.
Sure some people will ask how one can know which parts are metaphorical and which parts are literal. Just because there is no definite answer to that doesnt mean that the extreme case of taking it all literally is more preferrable.
Not all religious people fully believe everything in their religion. Christians who believe in God and Jesus could believe that God created the universe and then allowed things to develop from there.xTheExploitedSo they have made their own Christianity. If they are going to nitpick in their religion, it probably means it is not true after all. Especially since the Bible is the "Holy Word" of God.
God told us the story of Adam and Eve, if he allowed Evolution then the story of Adam and Eve is a lie. And why would God lie? It's really quite easy. God allowed or created evolution. See? Done... No conflict.

Yep, whatever seems fake....is metaphoric...whatever seems not too outrageous is probably literal....ah religious people.Religion is not just scripture and scripture can be interpreted metaphorically.

[QUOTE="DeerhunterIA"]God told us the story of Adam and Eve, if he allowed Evolution then the story of Adam and Eve is a lie. And why would God lie?It could be an allegory (either "told" by God to humans or just from their own imagination), and allegory doesnt equate to lie. It's really quite easy. God allowed or created evolution. See? Done... No conflict.

This man knows where it's at.they cant and if they do thenthey are not true followers. I'm religious andI dont believe in evolution.

I fail to see how Evolution THEORIES (because that's all they are ;) ) disprove creation in any way?
Show me the hundreds of thousands if not millions of half monkey half man fossils that should be scattered all over the globe and I'll gladly agree with the evolution theory :)
Exactly. Therefore religion is based on lies since Evolution is proven.they cant and if they do thenthey are not true followers. I'm religious andI dont believe in evolution.

Right....but when people ask for proof of God they get all offended and say "NO IT'S CALLED FAITH FOR A REASON." Religion sure has destroyed logic.I fail to see how Evolution THEORIES (because that's all they are ;) ) disprove creation in any way?

Well researching it, hell even googling it, provides you with countless fossils that support Human evolution.
First there was nothing and nothing happened to anything and then magically exploded for no reason creating everything and then a bunch of everything rearranged itself for no reason at all self replicating into bits that make the order of nature today.
Makes perfect sense.
[QUOTE="Teenaged"]Yep, whatever seems fake....is metaphoric...whatever seems not too outrageous is probably literal....ah religious people. The thing is that such an approach to narration isnt exclusive to religious texts. Of course, it can probably be said that those who do use such an approach in their writings have been influenced directly or indirectly by religious texts.Religion is not just scripture and scripture can be interpreted metaphorically.

I dont see why what you point out matters necessarily for the religion. It may matter for things that draw their validity from their godly inspiration (and even then we cant say that it disproves it for certain; God may as well be using allegories to speak to a species that is lesser than him and that doesnt have the capacity to fully comprehend "his ways"), but I think that slowly religions are starting to not hinge on this godly inspiration for their validity or their trustworthiness.
Maybe in the future religions will be much less deity-oriented.
Pretty big straw man you've got there.First there was nothing and nothing happened to anything and then magically exploded for no reason creating everything and then a bunch of everything rearranged itself for no reason at all self replicating into bits that make the order of nature today.
Makes perfect sense.

[QUOTE="Teenaged"]It could be an allegory (either "told" by God to humans or just from their own imagination), and allegory doesnt equate to lie. Then is the Jesus story an allegory? We cant know that. So far it is believed it is not an allegory since we dont have any serious indication that nothing of what is in it happened.[QUOTE="The-Tocino"] God told us the story of Adam and Eve, if he allowed Evolution then the story of Adam and Eve is a lie. Time will tell.
Nice copy-pasta. You could add some sauce.First there was nothing and nothing happened to anything and then magically exploded for no reason creating everything and then a bunch of everything rearranged itself for no reason at all self replicating into bits that make the order of nature today.
Makes perfect sense.

Wrong. There was always something. Energy can be neither created or destroyed.First there was nothing and nothing happened to anything and then magically exploded for no reason creating everything and then a bunch of everything rearranged itself for no reason at all self replicating into bits that make the order of nature today.
Makes perfect sense.

Why do religious people try to fit science in with their religion so they can keep on believing in delusions?The-Tocino
