I lift 30 pound dumbbells (comfortable weight for me not too light, not too heavy) and see moderate results since I've been at it for a few years. The only thing is that I want considerably larger muscles. Do you have to eat a lot? I don't want to get obese or anything but I want muscle at the same time. Please just give me simple answers and don't give me your whole fitness routine hehe.

Strain yourself. With resistance training (weight lifting and the like), to truly build bulk, you should be aiming for only 5 or 6 repetitions. Make sure to stretch and maintain a full range of motion as you exercise though.

Just get penis enlargement surgery, your lust for large muscles will then expire.

Have your diet consinst of protein. You probably need to be a higher weight than you are now.

I like 120lbs and 5'7" and I have the hardest time gaining weight, I hate it. I guess it's my body type and my motabolism.

Don't eat junk food, it'll just make you fatter or cause health problems in the future.

Keep increasing the weight that you lift.

Eat enough to provide your body with the necessary materials it needs to grow.

Be consistant in your routine.

If your an adult I would argue it's difficult to gain any significant mass without chemical help.

Careful with that. Protein is necessary for building muscle, but you have to exercise first for your body to use the protein.

Makes me wonder where all that energy I consume goes when I don't exorcise that often. I must be wasting a lot when I could be actually using it.

Do you fidget much? Fidgeting can burn up to 300 calories a day. I know that I generally try to simply keep active and move a lot during the day. Vault when I can climb, leap when I can stand, jog when I can walk, etc.

Are you doing just one exercise...Change it up man. Work out all parts of your body. Your biceps are only 1/3 of your arms. The triceps are the other 2/3s! And you gotta eat more calories just make them good ones. Good types of meat, whole grains, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, etc.

His biceps must be insane, I can't even do 35lbs comfortably(8-12 reps), and I'm not your average joe.

Cool it buddy. First of all I'm not the strongest guy around, 30 seems like my limit right now and I'm 18. I'm asking for help because I want to go up to 50 atleast. And in response to a previous post, I do work out the triceps, forearms, back, shoulders, etc.

You've been at 30 lbs for a few years? That's not much. Your diet is about 80% of what training is built on. The rest is in the gym. 5-6 is good for size, but if you have undeveloped muscles, 8-12 reps per set can work, too. I'm thinking about trying out 15 reps in a new workout plan.

Honestly I haven't created a solid workout plan. i sort of just winged it and worked out certain muscle groups on and off. i was thinking of this, how would this work out (no pun intended):

Fri- Chest+triceps

Sat- biceps+shoulder

Sun- back

Mon- legs

Tues- Chest+triceps

Wed, Thurs- nuthin

That is a really good plan i must admit, but how long do you exercise for each day? For someone your age it should be atleast 1-1.5 hours.

Protein shakes help. Also, occasionally go up in reps if its the perfect weight for you. And when you feel like you can go up in weigh, go up. Staying with the same weight is fine for keeping the muscle, but it wont help you build much.

By lifting dumbells, do you mean dumbell press? Originally I started out at 30lbs too for dumbell press, then I got up to 55lbs. Currently I'm stuck at 45lbs, but that's because I haven't had the time to dedicate myself to the gym as much as I used too, cause of my job. But now things have eased up, so I'm going to go back to building muscle and get back up to 55 lbs

Being completely honest, not much. I think that's the main problem here along with the fact that I never built a solid routine to go off of. I pretty much worked various parts of my body whenever I had time. But I'm going to start using my routine and focus on lower reps and heavier weights. I think that on each day, if I train the muscle group properly, it should amount to about 1-1.5 hours of exercise. I think that on Wednesday and Thursday Im just gonna chill on the elliptical machine hehe.

Lol, is it really that hard? My biceps are average I'd say but I could comfortably do a few sets of 30 lbs weight without sacrificing form. I have friends who could do 45 already and they have a much smaller frame than me.

Well you problem is if you have been doing 30's for a long time and are comfortable with it, you really wont go anywhere if you stay there. You should use the 30's as a warm up now, and then keep moving up at increments of 5 (so say you do 12-15 reps of 30, which should be easy, especially for you, then go up to 35 and do fewer reps, then for the 3rd set go up to 40 and do even fewer reps). You want to keep pushing yourself, thats the only way to get big and keep getting big. If you are big enough and want to maintain it, you could do what you are doing now, but if you want to get bigger, then push yourself. Also, do exercies of not just your biceps, but also tricep, chest, shoulder, ab, and you should also do a bit of cardio before your workout to get the blood flowing. On top of that, eat well, so healthy food that has a lot of protein. If you are short on time and dont have the time to cook (thats my problem), then make protein shakes and use those. On top of that, might wanna use some other supplements two, my two personal favorites are creatine (regular powdered one), and superpump250 (essentionaly a nitric oxide supplement). Do this for 3-6 months and you should get amazing results.

I'm not an expert on bodybuilding, but I'm pretty sure the best way to build muscle and keep it is excercise with your arms one day, excercise with your legs the next day, then do cardio/endurance the next day after that. Then, take a day off from working out so your muscles can relax. Repeat this technique once the fourth day ends.

ok assuming you are serious,

Is all you have available is 30lb dumbells?

Also do not, i repeat do not workout for 1-1.5 hours even at your age, after 1 hour of workout your muscles and system will start to burn out and you will be doing more harm than good as your muscles will be breaking down and trying to rebuild while your still working out and this will just have a negative effect on growth.

yup, all i have at my house are a pair of 30lb dumbbells along with a 20lb set and 10lb set I used to use when I was younger.. Good to know, I'll definitely avoid working out that long then.
