I am down on my luck and I wanted to ask you guys for some tips. I ask because most of you are losers and I figure you often have to battle depression. Just kidding... You guys are cool.

I don't know about that... when I am sad I enjoy sad things... but I am sulking more than anything... I don't see it cheering me up.Based on a recent article from Cracked, watching a sad movie would actually make you happier.

Usually buy myself a little something or go out to a fancy pub / beer place and drink / eat as much as I want. Sometimes just lay on the couch and watch a movie. I do weight training 4 days a week and cardio which help, also walking the dogs helps. I don't really get sad as often as I used to.

i got two ways.
tell yourself you love yourself, say it with a smile. have an i love the world day. wake up, tell yourself today will be all about love. say that you love everything and everyone, smile think about love and how it makes you feel happy. think about someone that makes you happy and tell yourself that you love them. try to smile and not think about anything negative all day.
think about this.
some physics believe that time as we know does not happen in a linear way. past, present and future are all one in the same, there is no difference. now think about a time in your life that you were happy. now realize because time does not happen in a linear way that that time in your past that you were happy is still happening now. it will always be happening. so now whenever you are sad just remember that you are actually happy right now at some point in time.
Go to a gym - or do some work outs in general. Not only is it healthy, but it produces endorphins which improve your mood. Put some upbeat music on while you're at and you're good to go. :)
Then when you're tired play some video games... I mean we are on a gaming site after all.
Pistachio by Lisa Hannigan always cheers me up :P Also, laying in a bath tub, sipping on wine while destroying noobs in an extremely violent video game helps too :P
Prozac.MakhaidosProbably the worst anti-depressant imo. Take like 50mg or more and you start going insane.
I could show you some pictures or videos from my trips to Haiti and you would instantly feel better about yourself and your life.
Sometimes a good wallowing pity-party makes me feel a bit better.
Other times, I watch cartoons. I suppose because it takes me back to my childhood when things were a lot simpler. Or maybe I just like to watch cartoons.
Video games are also good. Killing DA BOSS usually makes me feel better. :D

Draw, or watch Star Trek, Star trek always cheers me up, but when I finsh watching it I feel like shit again
good food, passionate sex, relaxing video games and music.
a more accuate answer would be: i dunno, because what makes you happy is not something i have any kowledge on
