A few days ago I rescued a dog from a local pound. He is a young, brown and white bulldog and I find him the cutest thing ever. Because of my work schedule I had to leave him home by himself. He looked so innocent and sweet, what could a dog like him possibly do? Sadly, when I returned home I nearly had a heart attack. My shoes, couch and T.V cords were chewed up, and the food and drinks that I left out on the table was knocked onto the floor staining my carpet! The thing that ticked me off the most was the fact that he urinated all over my favourite reclining chair instead of the newspapers I gave him! I was so angry. As soon as I saw the place I called out his name. Guess where he was? On my bed! I pulled him off my bed by his collar, shoved his face into mine, and started screaming at him. He seemed frightened and tried to get away. It ticks me off when I'm not listened to so I kicked him slightly in the stomach, grabbed him by his collar again and shoved his face into his urine for a good 5 minutes. I then remembered my $100 shoes he had ruined and shoved them in his mouth, he spat it out then barked at me so I grabbed him tight and locked him in the study room until the next day. After that, he is now much better and following my rules. How do you discipline your pets?

Put hot sauce on the things that he chews on...it worked for my dog. For the pissing, don't leave him free in the house when you're away. Put him in the cage or container that you got him in (if he fits). If he pisses or poops in there he's gonna hate it and he will learn to hold it in until you let him out. That's how I trained my pup. For discipline use differing tones. Dogs understand your tone of voice over what you say and a spank here an there when he misbehaves should be fine. Just don't abuse the poor thing.

Great tips, I will apply it to my dog as soon as he does something wrong. Already, I have put hot suace on my new tv cord. I dont have a big backyard so my dog lives in the house, my dog has no crate so every time he poops or pees in the house I continue to rub his face in it as he seems to not be understanding and as for abusing i only punch, kick or smack him when he barks, attempt to run away or bite.

If you plan on having him be a pure house dog then set aside a pissing/pooping zone and whenever you catch him pissing/pooping interrupt him and bring him to the zone immediately. They also sell this liquid solution that is made from urea. You just put a drop of it in the zone you want to be the bathroom type area and he should be attracted to that spot when he has to go.

When my puppy used to piss on the carpet, we'd rub his face in it and scold him. He caught on rather quickly.

To be honest its largely your fault. Bull dogs are notorious for chewing everything and the urinating and all that, its a puppy. You have to train him to do it outside not punish him THAT severely for doing something instinctive. You should have locked him in the kitchen with some water and newspapers on the floor, making sure all the food he COULD get at was out of reach. If you punish a puppy like that then you are going to traumatize it.

For the love of god don't yell at your dog (or kick) when you come home to a mess ... they don't understand what you're yelling at them for. Dogs don't think like us. From the dogs point of view he's sleeping on your bed (I assume) and you come barging in and start yelling, kicking and sticking foreign objects in his mouth and lock him up in a dark room.

You can only discipline a dog when you catch him in the act that's how they learn other wise they don't make the connection.

You left a brand new dog in an environment that is new to him and he doesn't know what the rules are. Here I'll put it in a gamer scenario. That's like me giving you a game you've never heard of and don't know the rules for and then yelling at you when you do something wrong.

My advice is to train your dog with positive reinforcement that's what works best.

Good Luck

It is impossible to catch my dog in the act he is very sneaky and I don't want to buy expensive products for him because I believe discipline is all i need to stop the poop and peeing in my house. Even if he is starting to fear me, but i heard that just means I'm the dominant one.

Fear doesn't mean you're dominant to a dog. It means you're violent. When you aren't around he will still misbehave.

Good examaple. But, I like to think of it as the dog does a mess ruins my house then i come home yell at him shove his face in the mess to point out that if he keeps doing it here he will be punished, shove the objects in his mouth so he doesnt like chewing it and gently kick him for not obeying me.

Animal abuse isn't funny. Stop trolling, please.
