I don't need it. I think for myself, and I have my own beliefs. I can't really say anything more.

One thing I feel is that people should not do good things because they are God Fearing, or because they are promised reward for their deeds but because its the right thing to do in general.

I find it useless, and often does more harm than good. I also find it interesting how the main goal of every religion is telling people how to live their lives. Perhaps that's why I find no use for religion, don't really need any "help" or "guidance" from those shady sources.

In Christianity at least, you're not rewarded for your deeds. Good works don't get you into heaven.

I think religion is stupid... but I said that out loud once around my friends and I think some of them were offended =\ So I kind of keep my opinion to myself and don't get me wrong it doesn't bother me that people have faith and all. It's just when people look to God to solve all thier problems. I meen even if there is a God why would he/she/it benefit you and not everyone else? I just think religion overall is flawed and I really don't want to have much of a part in it. I don't want to "worship" something that might not even exist...

in Christianity you can get rewarded for your deeds but you need to have accepted Christ as your savior first, its the main requisite, without it its not worth at all

I see no value in it myself. We're blobs of carbon on an infinitessimaly tiny rock (on a cosmological scale) in a universe with no capacity to care about us, and I'm fine with that.

I'm happy enough to liveand let live. Religion has too much influence in politics for my liking, and the nutcases are at best a nuisance and at worst homicidal, but I'm not going todevote anytime tobringing about its demise.

Well I am not up for any organized religion.. I do not follow leaders. Religion is made up by men... People just go to churches and do things blindly... nonetheless a lot of these people are fine with that... or claim to be. I don't know... it doesn't really add up to follow or worship anyone or anything.

I don't care about it and I'm fine with whatever anyone follows as long as they aren't using it to hurt someone.

Or if someone gets all uppity about religion with me when they find out I'm an atheist.

This is going to derail the entire thread I know, and I apologise in advance, but doesn't it seem ignoble that God's main desire is to have people worship him? We wouldn't approve of this sort of behaviour in any other context.

Lately, I've REALLY been questioning and doubting it. I'm pretty much considering myself an agnostic right now.

That right there is the biggest reason I could never, ever worship the Christan god...a god that would condemn a good person to eternal torture, solely for choosing a different religion, despite the fact that there is just as little evidence for all others as there is for christianity...that god is deserving of worship...IMO.

Thats the part I disagree with the most about christianity. A god who loves all of his creations, would love even those who do not actively believe but do great deeds regardless.

It is a pile of crap. I could type up pages and pages... I could also say it eloquently, but my feelings towards it come down to that.

JesusNEVER said that everyone who does not believe will go to hell

I think you need to read the Bible again.

They are tools for comfort that deserve no respect. I see them as the psychosomatic equivalent of sleeping next to a teddy bear every night.

it's cool with me as long as it isn't taken overboard, makes people feel more stable. I hate fanatics though, I love watching people squirm when they're trying to convert somebody, and I ask why their god doesn't heal amputees.

Funny thing is, that this God, could be the same God in all religions, just worshiped differently, so those saying that following another religion is wrong, could be wrong themselves and only impeding the worship of God.
