How do you meet people and get friends?

If you have just moved and don't know anyone, how do you attempt to meet people?

Just get out there and do stuff. Join a club, get a job, join a sport, anything really. Just gotta get out in the world !!! Also be yourself and don't try too hard.

do a sport (but if you suck at sports, don't do this), if you're in school then that's an easy place to make friends, umm

I don't. Its a like a system. Most people come over to of course see the new person. I don't even know how i have friends now. I guess its my charm.

How old are you? If you still go to school, that's a good place to make friends. If your moving into a new neighborhood or something, you could possibly see if someone is outside and could compliment them on something you like about their house? Or maybe say that you like their car? Use a compliment to start the conversation. Then say that your new to the neighborhood and would like to get acquainted with some of the residents and take the conversation from there. Your workplace is also a good place to make friends, assuming that you've got one or are started a new one. If anyone has a yard sale, that could be a good place to meet some people. Or possibly a public pool, any clubs? Just try to go someplace around where you live where there is a chance for socialization and don't be afraid to just go up to someone and say something anytime you see someone :)
