How do you think of Conan taking over for the Tonight Show?

It's sad. I mean I've watched Jay Leno for years yet he's just gonna leave...Come on why!? When is he gonna switch in anyway? Too bad, I always found Jay a little funnier. He had the greatest skits, like Jaywalking, headlines, the animal guy, etc. It's really not gonna feel right once he leaves. How about you guys?camreeno360

i really like jay too, but i think conan's self-depreciating humor is better comedy imo.

That's how I felt when Leno took over for Carson. I'm still unjustly annoyed with Leno for trying to fill those shoes.

But hey, you think this is bad, just wait until Rosie tries to replace Bob Barker on the Price is Right. If that's not a sign of the end times I don't know what is.

When did they announce this?  Awesome, good for Conan, I've always preferred him to Leno.

I liked the show, but it was really hard not to feel embarrased for him during his stand up. I mean, airline peanuts? What the hell is that!?

I saw him today.

Jay Leno can't even tell a complete joke.  I'm glad that Conan is taking over, but I'm afraind the network might put more restriction on his show as a result.

One of the big appeals of Conan's show, I think, is its self-mockingly "low-budget" approach. I think that is one of the things that propelled the show first to a cult following and then to having about as high ratings as one could expect in that time slot. I just have a feeling that when Conan switches over that it won't really feel like the Late Night with Conan O'Brien anymore.

Actually, as strange as this may sound, I know it won't feel the same without The Max Weinberg Seven or Joel or various other people on the show. Those are the people I am used to Conan interacting with, and I think it will be really odd for me to see him having exchanges with the band from Leno or some other band entirely. Of course, I felt the same way back when Andy left the show, but that was just one of the other people, not all of them.

Maybe I am way off and that is not how they are going to do it at all. I don't think so though, especially since when Conan first made the decision, Weinberg seemed geniunely pissed off for at least a few episodes.
