Haven't played before. I would really like to since it looks like fun, but I don't have the time or money to at the time.
We did a golf unit for one of my high school gym classes.
i found out, i am absolutely horrible at golf.
[QUOTE="MonoSilver"]I can drive them all right but if I use any other club, it's best to evacuate the area. BMD004lol. I drive the ball far, but there is no telling where it's going. I can hit one perfectly straight and the next one will slice into the trees. I used to practice quite a bit as I live near some fields which lend themselves well to long drives. It's been so long since I picked up a club though I'd be very erratic.
I'd be good if I played more. Â I have a good swing and know the fundamentals, I just don't play often enough to really nail them down.
So, the only winning move is not to play?Well, since the goal of golf is the least number of strokes, and I have zero, I'd say I'm pretty darn good.

I would have definitely shot around 100 if I played 18 holes yesterday...

If you're still in the phase of "I drive the ball far, but there is no telling where it's going", then no, you aren't shooting around 100. More like 120... maybe... with a generous share of mulligans.
Same. Golf is one of those games where you have to keep practicing consistently because the movements are so precise.I'd be good if I played more. Â I have a good swing and know the fundamentals, I just don't play often enough to really nail them down.

I used to have a decent swing, last time I played on a course I was getting to be pretty accurate compared to when I started. Â I just went to a range for the first time in several years, though, and I definitely regressed. Â Almost everything I hit was going left if I hit it solid, and I think I hit the ground behind the ball before I hit the ball more often than not.

It depends. Some days I can hit the majority straight, and some days I can't. By the end of my time at the range, I adjusted some things and was hitting decently. I used to shoot in the 90's, but have definetly shot well into the 100's many times before. So I just said "around 100". But you are right, I'd probably be well over 100 since its been so long.I'm terrible. I once hit the roof when inside a driving range once!ShermheadRyder
You're not a golfer if you do not do that at least once :P
Also, you have to hit the dividers between the stalls a lot :D
I have clubs and I've played a few 18-hole rounds, but many of my shots don't fly straight. Or even get up in the air.
Golf? Not so much. Driving a golf cart and drinking beer? Excellent at :P

Just stay in the clubhouse and not pay the cart fee. Much cheaper.
My only experience is sporadic bouts of crazy-golf once ever six years or so on average.
Damn I need to crazy-gold more.
Edit: every* golf* rofl
Nah. As an accountingf** I probably should though. But the only game of golf I've liked is the one in Falling Down. MrPralineAccounting is soo lame. I've done it, how do you like your job LOL

I've done it, how do you like your job LOL It's fine. Work for an accounting firm and am only involved in compilation and some other things. Do not make any journal entires or anything myself. Boss those people around. It sounds insane but external reporting and its laws, including GAAP, can be quite interesting.
I used to be okay, I was off about 18 when I was 16 y/o but I haven't played since then. Can't imagine I'd be able to hit the ball now.
most tracks I'll end up somewhere between 5-10 over par. not bad but at one time I was almost a scratch golfer, although at the time I was playing almost everyday~
Contrary to my awful regular golfing I too am a master at mini-golf. I couldn't do putting on a regular course to save my life though, funny how that works.I'm really good...
...at mini golf.:P

Pretty bad. It's a pretty good way to waste an afternoon if you're with people but I don't see the appeal in going alone. At least if I'm with people we can laugh at least other when we end up 3 or 4 over par on every single hole. Every now and then I'll fluke out and get it in in 2 but that isn't common at all. I think if golf course greens were made of carpet like mini-golf courses instead of grass, my short game would be awesome. Â No more three-puts for me!
I do okay to good at miniature golf. Â Never played real golf, but I have visited a driving range a few times. Â I can't hold a club properly, I sometimes miss the ball, and often slice it to the point where I almost hit the person in the stall next to me with the ball. Â But if I do make good contact, I get some pretty decent yardage.
