How good is Dexter season 3?

I watched the first 2 seasons recently and someone was telling me that season 3 "tried too hard" and it wasn't as good as the first two. That got me a little worried the 3rd season won't match up to the brilliance of the first two so OT, tell me what you think!

Not as good as Season 4.

Season three to me was just to build up some of the characters

Its amazing just like the last 2 seasons IMO... and the the 4th season epsiode 1 :shock: O M G

Why do people say season 4 looks good? I haven't seen the first episode though. But of course Dexter S3 is good, just watch it.Chiddaling

For me it's Season 2 > 1 > 3

All are great. My only issue with the third season was that at times it didn't feel that enough events happened in each episode and then they rushed the important stuff. Since I assume you are watching the episodes in a way back-to-back, you won't really have that problem and I'm sure you will find it completely enjoyable.

The leaked premier for season 4 shows promise that the show will go back to the feel of the first two seasons. That observation honestly has no weight ha.

we are about 1/3 of the way thru the 2nd season on DVD. We have the 3rd, and will wait for the 4th season to go for sale on DVD.

I like the 2nd season so far; Helen thinks the 1st season was better. We shall see.

You're in for a treat. The last half of season 2 is unbelievable. :D

I have to admit I didn't think season 3 was all that special. It was better than most other series, and it kept my interest, but I definitely preferred seasons 1 and 2 (especially season 1).

It was good but not as good as the previous two seasons. Season 3 had some useless subplots and focused to much on meaningless relationships (Angel and that hooker cop for example) but Jimmy Smits was amazing. Season 3 was great for character development on Dexter's part.

i'm watching season 3 right now but I think it sucks so far compared to 2
