Come to England and pay upwards of $9 a gallon, otherwise you don't really have much to complain about.

Yeah, maybe people can start breaking out the bikes or walking shoes.  But, what it's going to affect most is airline prices, expect those to skyrocket.

We will have riots if it reachs $5, United States in all its genious lacks really any public transportation leaving quite a few people high and dry in jobs that may be as far as 40 miles away...  Biking that distance is at best unrealistic..  I find the rising gas prices ironic when the last few quarterlies gas companies pulled a profit (from increased gas prices) that was record breaking..

If it is so rare shouldn't the oil companies get roughly the same profit thats how economics work..  The rarity increases it in price to match the value there of so they can still pull a profit, it were abundent..  Yet no such thing has occured.. I have seen no gas station run out of gas, no oil shortages etc etc..

It doesn't help much either when the government is swayed alot of time by lobbyiests from industries such as the pharmaceuticals and oil industries..

I don't know, but I'm invested in oil and natural gas wells, so I don't really care...the higher gas prices go, the more money I have roll in every month. I'll be profiting everytime each of you purchases gas. Thanks in advance.

No matter how high it gets, it won't deter me from going about my normal business. I will still meet my friends in NYC (that will just require me to drive about a minute to the train station), but I will still go see movies, see my friends in other states and other parts of Westchester, and hang out at different malls, bars, etc. I will just be smarter with how much driving I do.

To answer the question though, probably around $4.15 a gallon.
