Well today I went a little crazy at Best Buy and got some CD's to listen to + add on my iPod, but I was just wondering is my taste is pretty good? I bought: Viva La Vida/Prospekts March (Bonus Ed. CD) - Coldplay Day & Age - The Killers 808's and Heartbreak - Kanye West Want! - 3OH!3 (bought on iTunes) Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend and I also borrowed my mom's Steve Miller Band Greatest Hits album, and it's amazing.. So, my taste is a little random, but I was just curious if others thought it was dumb, or cool, or weird..or whatever. Opinions.
That definitely appears to vary a bit. I don't actually listen to any of them much (Steve Miller, The Killers, and Coldplay I listen to occasionally but not all that often.)

Well it's not like I need reassurence with what I listen to :P I was just curious to see what others think, but to answer your question: Yes, I love my taste in music, because it's something unique to me...and everyone else that listens to it :lol: p.s. I didn't add this, but I have to say The Killers album isn't that great :/ I think I should have just bought a few songs off of iTunes haha.

Well then that's really all that matters. No one can rate your taste in music because all the answers will simply be "I like/don't like the bands you mentioned, so I approve/dissaprove of your taste".

I liked Coldplay too but not anymore after I found out they stole Joe Satriani's work.

Yeah I've listened to the singles on it..they're pretty good, but I thought I would give the new stuff a try, but I guess I need to stick to the old. But speaking of old, does anyone know of some good older bands (i.e. Steve Miller Band) that are decent? You mean like Classic rock? I'd say King Crimson if you like prog, and all the old standby's-Beatles, Who, Rolling Stones, Zeppelin...etc

Personally i would not buy ne of those except for like 2 of the Coldplay songs.
I've been told that i have good taste in music, Vida La Vida is opretty good but i don't really like the Killers and i hate thier new song what ever it's called. Vampire Weekend is quite good too, i like thier style, not a fan of Kanye but i do like other hiphop. Haven't heard of the rest.
Well, I'm not a big Coldplay fan, I think Kanye is overrated, and I've never heard of the other bands, so I would say you don't. Then again, taste in music is completely subjective, so why are you asking me?
From my secret elitist persona I will give it a 5/10. The music is a bit standard mainstream, and I'm not a fan of the Kanye stuff. Listen to some more underground music or better mainstream stuff.

Listen to what ever makes you feel good and just don't be ignorant and you'll be a happy fella.
Why are you talking as if you think your taste in music is unusual and worthy of discussion, you just listen to a bunch of medicore mainstream music exactly the same as thousands of others like you. If you wanted to try and make it sound like you have an unusual and/or contriversial music taste you would need to have something like a mix of Black Metal, hiphop and country and western or something, only then would I think, 'yeah, that guy has a weird taste in music' as it is, your taste is nothing special or different.
