It's better for them to find out adult things when they are adults.aaronmullanBut how? I don't really get it.
It can give false impressions during key sexual development. The same reason why violent movies are... without an explanation of context by a parent or adult, they can misunderstand what is going on and be lead astray from reality.foxhound_foxBest explanation thus far.

/thread.
There is nothing more to it. Also, in some types of pornography sex and violence are synonymous, again encouraging inappropriate sexual behaviour is later life.
I think porn is more harmful for us males. It can lead to false expectations. The first time I had sex I wasn't expecting the girl to have pubic hair for example. I'm not saying porn is bad, just that maybe youngsters are led to believe in false ideas. stupid4:lol: OMG I'm laughing so hard. Post of the day!

Wow thanks guys, now I'm not so thrilled with the idea of giving up my virginity.I've watched a lot of porn in my day and I had HUGE expectations for sex, and you know what? When I finally had sex with my girlfriend who I loved more than anything and had been dating for many, many months, I really didn't care that it didn't feel nearly as awesome as it's been made out to be (although I'm sure the condom didn't help) and that I couldn't do nearly all the same positions and so on and so forth. The idea of making love with someone is much better than the actual phsyical execution of it in my opinion.
When I was a minor - the only pornography I ever saw was naked women.
The stuff kids could see on the internet today is scary to say the least. Some of it is scarring to adults let alone kids that haven't even had sex.
i was exposed to porn as a little kid...im just fine. :twisted:blazinpuertorocSame. It can even be educational. But at the same time -- I understand why it can be harmful. Lets face it, blazin... some are just not as equipped to handle that kind of info as a kid as we were.
In fact, pornography is harmful to everyone. Stop watching other people to turn yourself on and make yourself feel good. Bad bad bad.amirbrandonI'm still waiting for the harmful side effects...... only good so far! :P
Because of several reasons.
1.Mainstream Pornography contains alot of mysoginistic subtext. Not all of it though.
2.It probably gives teenagers false expectations about "certain parts of their body" :D
That being said I watch alot of porn. and I can't stand all of the fake plasticness of it all. Who has a climax like that? WHO?
It all depends on the person. teens are gonna turn the google image search safety off sooner or later and all you can really do is hope they know not to take everything they see seriousilly on there.
I wouldn't allow my kid to watch porn but if found his stash I wouldn't really punish him for it. I'd confiscate it though.

To some extent, I think some of the critics of pornography would also be leading people astray from reality. Of the feminists who claim that porn has a "distorted" portrayal of women, and the feminists who continue to deny even scientifically valid gender differences, I'm inclined to assume that some if not many of them are the same feminists, and if that's the case, then it's somewhat hypocritical of those who promote an inaccurate picture to accuse what they're opposed to of promoting an inaccurate picture. And that's not even getting into religious criticisms of it. Ultimately, this kind of thing seems to be a favoritism of one perspective over other perspectives, so that the groups with the most power get to filter what children get to see.
In any case, the problem with the comparison to violent entertainment is that sexual entertainment IS treated worse. Even nudity in entertainment seems to generally be looked at more strictly than violence in entertainment, though that depends on the extent or kind of the violence... but still, if I recall correctly, an R-rating means it's ok for kids to watch it as long as they have adult supervision whereas an X-rating means kids aren't allowed watching it with or without adult supervision; from what I've noticed, it takes some rather intense violence (if not cussing alongside that) to get it up to R, and that's more acceptable than pornography? And even aside from that, there seems to be a stronger taboo against kids looking at porn than against kids playing violent video games or watching violent cartoons. In the end, if they're to be treated the same, the point is the same; people need to be able to distinguish entertainment from reality.
Because God Said SO and Obviously Gods been right about everything RIGHT!?Sad_demonCongratulations......you just took the comedic degradation of religion to a point a meaninglessness.

Hello there. :)
Pornography is not harmful to minors. Pornography is not harmful to anyone. Pornogaphy is just a visual representation of various sexual acts humans can have with one another. By minors, I assume you mean human children, so therefore, no, it would not be harmful for humans to see other humans with the same body parts that they have, engaged in actions that their parents engaged in to create them, and they will engaging in themselves after they hit puberty.
Shame for ourselves really needs to cease. Shame keeps us from fully understanding ourselves.
Never mind the fact that some of the women in them look like they're only getting paid $10 and their pimp's taking eight, Have you ever seen what some of those naughty parts look like on some of them? I've seen snuff films that are less tramuatizing to an 8 year old.
Would be hard for kindergarten teachers to control the children when they would all trying to hump each other.Neon-TigerI would totally sig this if it wouldn't be considered offensive.

I agree with you. I think it's actually more harmful for minors to hear about porn as being immoral and inapropriate..it then creates an air of this isn't natural...
