Crap, this stuff is impossible to predict. What say you?

I don't know. Transitioning from a type 0 civilization into a type 1 civilization is going to be a scary time for humans.
We are witnessing the birth pangs of this transition right now
Humanity as a species will persist for a long, long time.
Even if we have to live underground thanks to the nuclear winter haunting the Earth above, we will find a way to survive.
Thanks to the discovery of water and Helium-3 (the most efficient energy source in the world that allows Fusion energy to happen) on the moon, there is the definite potential of establishing a permanent moon colony.
If all the money that we spend on pointless wars was invested in a space colonization program, we could potentially be living in colonies right now.
And it's been demonstrated that life on a space station is certainly doable...if costly.
If only we could devise some kind of "gravity machine."
What are some examples of these pangs?I don't know. Transitioning from a type 0 civilization into a type 1 civilization is going to be a scary time for humans.

Forever as long as people are horny the Human race shall never die. AussieePetHoney, just because you're horny doesn't mean you can make babies. Your right rand won't inseminate you, neither will that strap on from Spencers.

[QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"][QUOTE="themajormayor"] I think for homo sapiens it's been 100,000 at the most.[QUOTE="Disopian_XX"][QUOTE="AussieePet"]Forever as long as people are horny the Human race shall never die. Humans(knowntaxonomicallyasHomo sapiens,[3][4]Latinfor "wise man" or "knowing man")[5]are the only livingspeciesin theHomogenus.Anatomically modern humansoriginated inAfricaabout 200,000 years ago, reaching fullbehavioral modernityaround 50,000 years ago.[6]
Forever. By the time he sun explodes our technology will be so advanced that we will be able to live other places. Of course, by then we won't look anything like modern day humans. We went from apes to humans in just a less than a million years, so what we become after billions is going to be really interesting. We're still at the early stages of life so how we evolve even further is up to nature and our habits.

Well being in a sexual mood gives you the need to have sex which then includes unprotected sex and bam you has a baby on the way those are my logics :)
Until the sun goes out.... a long time from now.DogswithgunsThe Earth's surface will be too hot for life before the sun engulfs us.
Agreed. I think humans are intelligent enough to survive for at least a few tens of thousands of years more....won't be like anything life is now, but i think we'll be around in, say, 50.000 AD+I don't know. The only way humans will die out is
1. We drop bombs on ourselves committing civilization suicide
2. Aliens come kick our ass
DarthTuna
3. sun dies out/ red dwarf whatever its called.

We will have expanded to other galaxies by thenEvery single person in the world could live in a theoretical landmass the size of Texas. We don't have overpopulation problems, yet.i give it a couple hundred more years. the issue is that we'll soon have overcrowding and people living too long.

Depends on lots of extraneous factors like possible asteroid strikes, supervolcanoes, etc. Those things can wipe us out.

Yes there is definitely an overpopulation problem. 30% of earth>texas. And there is no problem with resources. Even if there was an overpopulation problem it would adjust itself. It's a theory from the 19th century, I forgot what's it called, that says if the population grows too large it will adjust itself with famine and stuff like that to keep the population in control. So potential overpopulation won't end the human species at all.i give it a couple hundred more years. the issue is that we'll soon have overcrowding and people living too long.
