I got 3 but only use one. I have a 12 month no interest thing going with one for a computer and if I want I can do another, but I don't know if I have to pay off the first one then start another, becausethe computeris almost paid off.
I have a Lowe's credit card. I don't like credit cards though I should have one for financial emergencies. BreakTheseLinks
It is hard to get your car fixed if you don't have a CC.

Well, you could always fix the car yourself. It's actually rather easy and cheap!I don't have one yet, I really should get one though. PerfectCircles
Yes you should. The sooner the better because part of your credit score depends on how old your first card is and the average age of your cards. Just do some research on what cards are good for you.

Not to brag, but I make enough money to pay for any needed car repairs with cash.[QUOTE="ehhwhatever"][QUOTE="BreakTheseLinks"]I have a Lowe's credit card. I don't like credit cards though I should have one for financial emergencies. BreakTheseLinks

How should I know? I have a few friends who are mechanics so that's not really an issue.[QUOTE="ehhwhatever"][QUOTE="BreakTheseLinks"]I have a Lowe's credit card. I don't like credit cards though I should have one for financial emergencies. ferrari2001

Have you looked into getting a secured credit card? I would recommend you do that, you'll be glad you did once you're older and want to buy a car/house etc.0. I tried applying for one and got rejected. Its probably just as well.

How could one aquire 11 or more credit cards? Debit cards (American ones) not counting, I don't get it. Although we do have Visa debit in Canada now, even though its at one bank only.

None. I'm glad to live credit free.

This is just ignorant. Just about any mechanic out there will work on your car without a credit card. After the work is done and you don't pay the bill then you just don't get your car back until you've paid it.
[QUOTE="soulless4now"]Get one, buy a chocolate bar or something cheap with it, pay it off right away. Then you'll have credit rating. It's a fantastic system.I feel the opposite about that. I don't have a job to support the actual need of a credit card plus there's other ways to build credit. I don't want to be one of those people who end up in serious debt later on in life all thanks to a plastic card.0. I don't really need one right now nor do I have the funds to actually pay the bill for one.

I have a debit card and that's all I have or want. Credit card rules piss me off and I see no need to use one so I don't. Also, I don't see myself being 100% responsible with that kind of power. I don't travel and loans help me out of any jams I get into. I don't need a credit card.
When I actually have a decent paying job that pays me more than a living wage, we'll talk about getting a credit card.
Probably to pay off one with another.One. I don't understand why people often have so many credit cards.
