Ok, out of curiosity who goes to the gym on a regular basis ( 3-5 days a week) for weight training? I only want honest answers :P, I really want to see how many people don't fit into the 'Gamer' Stereotype.

So? Those who stay in the gym their entire life.. get little out of it.. they're fearful to change things up. It becomes almost the easy thing to do. If you go one direction, you limit yourself in the long run. It's almost a fear effect in my mind. I could easily continue to work out at the gym.. continue developing muscle mass.. continue to focus on power, but in doing so I neglect so many other areas.. and this happens all to often with gym rats.Yes there are free ways, but who ever has worked out at a gym and done own body workouts will come to realise that there is no way in hell you can gain the muscle and definition through push ups or sit ups that you can doing weight work outs.

Those who really care about athletics, staying in shape.. look for new ways to challenge themselves. I gaurentee you, not many people who go to the gym regularly could handle the work out routines I put myself through.

so just lift weights at home. it costs about 25 dollars for a set of weights. personally, i can't stand the gym, bad dance music, waiting for machines, running on treadmills, and just well.....boring. i do see how it could be enjoyable if you go with someone else though, it's just my opinion. it's a bit mindless (as is weights).
i think for general fitness the gym is a waste of money. i cycle 10 miles a day to keep myself in shape. for body building though i can see its worth.
Absolutely. The gym is a viable option if you're looking to get into serious strength training and power lifting.. other wise it's really not that necessary.i think for general fitness the gym is a waste of money. i cycle 10 miles a day to keep myself in shape. for body building though i can see its worth.

I lift weights twice a week, and run ever 2 days. If its not cold or raining, I run out side, otherwise it's the 'ol athletic club.
I currently go five times a week. I did more during the school year but now that its summer with a job my times is a lot more limited and since there's a lot more physical labour during my work day I get a lot more run-down before hand.
I go to the gym every day, after Cross Country and Track practice. So I typically end up running 6 to 8 miles a day, plus an hour of lifting.

I'm 24 and have been working out ever since I was training for high school football. It's a great hobby just stay away from the fat burner supplements and steroids.
