How many male teachers do you have (if any)?

It's just pathetic what "pedophile hysteria" is doing to America! According to this MSN article, men are so wary of being accused of child sexual abuse that they're now afraid to become teachers. The result is that the percentage of male teachers has dropped as low as 17.5% in some states!

Wow, the responses so far completely contradict the article. Perhaps the MSN findings only apply to elementary schools and middle schools?

I'm currently in High School, and 4 out of the 8 teachers I have this year are male. Technically I've actually had 5 male teachers out of nine total this year lol. (My AP World History Teacher retired in the middle of the year lol.)

seems to be a good balance at my school.

lol you may be right. 7th grade, 3/7 teachers were male. 8th grade, 2/7 teachers were male. in 8th it could have been 3/7male teachers, but one of them got lung cancer early on and was replaced.

I also believe that males make the best teachers, but that discussion doesn't belong here.

Three out of four, was three out of 4 last term too.

7 classes, 4 male teachers, although last year I only had one male teacher, unfortunately there have been incidents of sexual abuse being reported when no abuse occurred, nothing happened to the teacher fortunately but I can understand why they wouldn't want to get into the profession.
