And I'm not talking about listed specs. I'm talking about ACTUAL mpg in YOUR normal driving routine.
Anyway, I decided to test this out just out of curiosity. I waited until my tank got low on gas. I then filled up my gas tank. I then recorded how many gallons I put in my tank, and my odometer reading. Then I kept driving as usual.
When my gas guage reched the same level as before my last gasoline refill, I checked the new odometer reading. I then subtracted from that te last recorded odometer reading. I then took the difference, and divided that by the number of gallons I last put into my car.
Assuming that the meter at the gas station was correct, and that my odometer is correct, and that my fuel guage is correct, I am getting approximately 31 mpg. Not great, but that will do.
Has any of you ever done this? Calculated a rough estimate of the mpg you'rte getting in YOUR unique driving conditions? If so, what mpg did YOU come up with?
