First off, SHAME to those that have not yet read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Go read it.

Now for those of us that have read Ender's Game, how many would say its one of the best books they have read so far? I'm thinking about buying a copy of the book to keep under my pillow for when I sleep. The whole set of books is just amazingly written. Have you read the other books that go along with Ender's Game?

I've read it. I thought it sucked. I really don't understand why people fawn over that book at all. The story is boring and none of the characters are likable or believable as real people.

One of the first few Sci-Fi books I've read. I thought it was ok at the time but after reading many more Sci-Fi books since then I have come to accept it as one of the better books of the genre.

I tried reading it. I really thought I would like it. But I could not read it because of Card's stupid writing style.

Honestly this is the first time I've heard of it. Since it seems to be getting so much praise - I might stop by the library tomorrow (if they're open on Thanksgiving?) and give it a shot.

I really enjoyed it. I've only read it and Ender's Shadow of the series though. Ender's Shadow was excellent.

One of the best, definitely. I've read the whole series that has to do with Ender, but I haven't read the Ender's Shadow series. Has anyone read any of the Ender's Game comics that have been coming out? Are they any good?

I've only read the first in the series but plan to get the rest. It's a great novel. I have so much else to read before I continue the series though. Right now I'm readingWay of the Peaceful Warrior.

Really good book. I wouldn't say it is one of the best (maybe one of the best sci-fi) but it's a decent read. Haven't read any of the sequels though.

I agree. I would recommend Ender's Game to just about anyone, but the sequels and series off-shoots, I wouldn't recommend, unless you're into space opera.

I loved the series. Even if the books after Ender's Game severely hurt my head.

EDIT: Not my favorite book though, The Road deserves that distinction. By far.

I really enjoyed it but only after I mentally ignored the fact that Ender was ages 6 - 9 (i think) and made him the age I was when I first read it. Ender is forever 13 in my mind (until Speaker for the Dead for obvious reasons). But, yeah, a great book when I read it but I've found that since I read it my literary tastes have changed and I prefer Speaker for the Dead nowadays.

It was required reading for one of my classes in High School. I enjoyed it immensely at the time, but now, it just doesn't have the same....shine. I don't know. I really can't see what I saw in it the first time.

Card has a really fast paced way of writing that makes you want to read more, so it was hard to put down when I first read it. In retrospect, it's not really exemplary by sci-fi standards and it's not especially profound, but it's a good fun read and is altogether well-crafted.

Took me a bit to get into it, but yeah, I liked it. Read it last year.

The second book was pretty cool, too. I started reading the third one, but I guess I got bored, so I stopped.

Hard to pinpoint. I'm not sure whether to call it "stream of consciousness" or not, but I think it's similar and that's mainly what I didn't like about it.

I read it. It's in the Top 20, but I'd hardly consider it a particularly stirring work. Speaker for the Dead was better, but still nothing I'd re-read.
