Jw, anyone who is/was in college (I'm currently in high school) how large of a percentage of people does it seem like to you are or did just BS their way through college? It only just occured to me that it seems like quite a few are from what I see.

Sort of depends on the major. You can't exactly fake your way through some of the higher maths and sciences.

You can get through a fair part of college by BSing. Depends on your major and what the particular type of work is. It is pretty easy to BS your way through a class where grades are based on writing assignments and essays. Read the material and then regurgitate it to prove you understand it. But if you are involved in a major with a lot of calculations then, of course, it is harder to BS. You have to be able to actually do it.

If you meant BS as in be a sycophant, well, from what I have seen that is a lot harder than high school. Most profs don't care how good of an excuse you have and they have heard them all at that level. To most you are a number and they have no obligation to you.

College is completely different than high school. It is hard to explain. Just a different mental approach by both teachers and students.

I would say not too many. Sure there is a ton of BS along the way (individual exams, and courses) but as a whole you can't possibly expect to BS your way through the curriculum of your major. So basically, those who do that are setting themselves up for a very rude awakening with no way out.

It depends.

If you've got to go to a community college for a year to learn how to be a plumber, do you think ANYONE REALLY tries that hard, except the one kid whose just DYING to be a plumber?

You can't BS your way into being a doctor, and even if you do, there's hardly anything out there compared to what those who do it all can get.

You can't BS your way into being a brain surgeon that easily now can you?
