170 kilos, 1 rep.
I usually do the following set 3x a week:
90 kilos x 12 reps
100 kilos x 10 reps
110 kilos X 8
115 x 6
90 X 12.
your HUGE! i think i only have ever pressed 100kg once :( 1x one rep:PI can benchpress about 200lb in a single push or I could do 155lb in a set of 8.-Jiggles-200 total right? (100 of each side) If not, then this is outta control.
Its been a while since ive maxed one rep, but last week I did 345 lb four times.
As for dumbbell, Idunno...I dont push myself too hard but I can rep out 110 (220 combined) pretty good (thats as high as the weights at the gym go :( )
of course, I weigh 360 pounds so thats not as impressive as some of you 180 lb folks pushing in excess of 240 lb.

If by huge, you mean pendulous beer gut, then yes, I'm MASSIVE!
Anyway, it's not difficult. Just work your way up. I didn't start going to a gym until I was 26 and teaching in Poland. Worked my way up from 55 kilo sets to 100 in less than 3 months. Granted, I think I'm genetically disposed towards muscle mass but anyone can see almost immediate gain from weight training.
I can bench a little over 250 pounds, but i only weigh 150. My all-time goal (I hope) is to double my weight and get 300.Mr_ButtmanAnd snap your arm?

Eh he'll snap his arm one day if he keeps going. In my class one guy snapped his arm doing a benchpress and everyone was freaking out.
3 sets of 5 reps of 135. I use to bench more last year. :?
Considering my weight I should do more too.

No he won't . The only way that will happen is if he goes up drastically to a weight he knows he can't lift and has a very bad spotter. It could also happen if he had very poor form, but if he's all ready benching 250 I'm pretty sure he's learned proper form.
[QUOTE="hell_blazer899"]I did 55 pounds/each arm today for 15 reps. How much can you do?fdsfgsumm i dont think thats bench press im 125lbs and i can bench about 155
its bench, its just dumbell bench (as opposed to barbell, which is the long solid bar you commonly see).
Its a really, really awesome exercise...make you work chest muscles you never knew existed!
Let's see...haven't lifted since I quit playing football...dumbbell bench was 110 each arm 5 reps, bar bench was 325 1 rep.
EDIT: I am 6'7 and at the time weighed about 245, so compute that math however you will.
