well ive just quit college so nothing at the moment. parents earn about £30,000 i think
80,000 and 40,000 dual income. We're (least I WAS) still lower middleclass on the verge of being poor. They're suckers for my sister, paying her a full tuition to university and a sorority. I'm in community college having to pay my own, because they say I'm a boy. Yeah, I don't live with them for a reason. I even block their calls, ****ing jerks.

This sounds like you should qualify for quite a few scholarships and for a significant amount of Federal Aid/Grants.80,000 and 40,000 dual income. Much to my chagrin and embarassment I have yet to exceed 40K. My father is living in Canada on a U.S. military retirement fund and my mother no long makes any money as she suffered a massive stroke a few years ago and is slowly checking out of this great game called life.

Well, it's true to a certain extent that people that make a certain base income are happier, and there is obviously a correlation between financial security and stress levels (just ask anyone who's unemployeed how they feel), but wealth does not guarantee success nor does poverty always result in unhappy people.
Psychological studies indicate that money and happiness are, however, correlated.Under 100K, I'm not sure how much exactly. It's a good thing money doesn't buy happiness. :)

To a certain degree, yes. See my above post. Also, there may be some lurking variables (for instance, people who are more optimistic probably do better in life and thus make more money).

You are my **** hero! Nothing will ever top that!!
Oh, and I do not know. My dad is a security guard, but he invests and hides all of his money, but I do not interact with him too much. But he never wants for anything I know that - even with his frugal life. My mother was forced into retirement due to a disease when I was 16, or so, so she makes almost nothing. But coming out of college next year I should be pushing $40,000 or more at 22, which is not much, but I expect to increase rapidly.
