Just curious. I put up a topic asking about how much us Gamespotters socialize but it didn't become a poll and it was several months ago. This should be interesting, and from speculation I'll say most of us here don't socialize a whole lot nor have a problem with it. Personally I hardly ever socialize, though it doesn't feel bad to. With me I'm just perfectly fine with being alone and I can go multiple weeks of a summer without seeing a friend's face. I guess I just like the fact that you can think to yourself more and contemplate things better when there's less of your mind devoted to conversations and more to thinking about things you're into.
Depends on what is considered "alone." In terms of "real life" I work an average of 20-24 hours a week and go to university during the week. I do sometimes (very rarely) get together with friends but since we are all so busy, it is extremely difficult. Would I like to spend more time outside of school and work socializing with people? Yes, maybe a little more but for now I'm good with what I do. When I am not at work, at university, sleeping or doing homework I spend my time here on Gamespot. It's a community as good as any other... just a little more technologically advanced.
All my friends live about 10 miles away from me and I only really see them on the weekends, but I love socialization, I just don't have to ability to do so seeing that I lack a car. So yea, I don't spend alot of time with people :(.
As far as real life socializing goes, other than school I'm alone. Typically my free time is spent on Xbox Live, although I'm usually in a free for all type of match, so I don't really socialize much online either.
If we're considering my free time (no school, no work), I spend about half of it with friends and half of it alone. I value my alone time greatly since I'm always so busy, tired, and stressed when I'm at school or working. However, I absolutely love to hang out with my friends as well. I have a lot of great friends. I'm not a major social butterfly, though -- I don't attend a lot of parties or anything.
i hang out with friends usually between 1-3 times every 2 weeks-ish...due to events taht occured in the last few months, i on;y really have 4, or 5 real friends...
I love socializing but most of my time lately is spent alone. university sucks up a major part of my time, especially with finals coming up next month :(
that changes in the summer though. last summer I could barely get any time alone at all :lol:
I could say that I socialize more often than the average gamer. But I do have a girlfriend and a close group or friends so its hard not to sometimes. I like spending my time alone tho.
