Everyone is different in regards to how much sleep they need. I need at least 7 hours of sleep to function normally. How much do you guys need?

I need 6 to be active and alert but it depends when I go to sleep; if I go to sleep before 10 I can usually manage with six hours, if it's after midnight I need closer to 8.
They did studies and it shows that if you work an average 9-5 type of job, for every hour you go to sleep before midnight it's it counts as better sleep so you arguably need less.
About 3-5 hours a night.
Is that what you get, or is that all you need?
If it's all you need, then that's pretty neat. Gives you a lot more time to do stuff. You're like an elf! Don't need sleep haha.
If that's all you get, well...sorry man that sucks. Have you considered a sleep study? I found out I had apnea and brother getting that taken care of changed my life for the better. People (men especially) tend to be pretty resistant to it but it's so so so worth it.
You need 8 hours at least or it's not healthy.
Not true, and that's just an average.
The only true answer is "you need what you need".
6 is about what I need to feel ok. But When I get 8, teaching is so much easier. I find that extra 2 hours gives me so much more patience with the kiddos.
@mrbojangles25: I usually only need 3-5 hours of sleep,I work 5 days a week and the days I work I don’t get any extra sleep time, sometimes on my days off I’ll grab some extra shuteye,I nap about 2 hours on each day off.
As a manager, who normally can't get decent sleep due to phone calls through the day and sometimes at night, I've been functioning off of 3-5 hours of sleep for the last few years. Getting any more sleep is very rare. Truthfully, it hasn't done my health any good. I'm pretty sure my lack of consistent good night sleep has slowly started to rot my brain, from affecting my speech to short term memory. I'm afraid no amount of good night rest will repair the damage....
