i'm like a decade older than you =SJandurinI'm more than two decades older than TC and I still game pretty much daily...
How is 17 too old when most of the huge games, you cant buy unless you're over 17...The highest age rating of gamers is about 18-34 so who ever said that to you is just ridiculous.
Its so dumb, its like "Hey, you're too old to watch movies!"
I'm 30,I hope to still be gaming when I'm 60 and 90 and so on. Those who say you're too old to game are those who try to be all 'grown up' and 'mature' i order to fit into a narrow minded ideal of what makes people 'normal'.
You are never too old to game.
17? Wow. I'm fairly sure you are the target demographic for most video games. I'd say it is more likely your family just doesn't approve of video games and is hoping by telling you you're too old that you'll quit playing them.
I'm 27 and I have plenty of friends who play games and still lead active social/family lives. Moderation is key.
17
For the past couple years I've been saying that I'm not into games any more, or I need to start prioritizing, then I realize I have nothing better to do and they drag me back in.
Yeah i'll keep on gaming until i get sick of it.I'm a year younger than you TC, damn right I'm not too old.
supa_badman
You're never to old to play games. People play games all the time until they die. Just because a controller isn't always involved doesn't mean they don't play it.Sajedeneyour right!!!

Xaos I wasn't aware they had video games back in the Civil War Era.
I'm 45 and I usually still game every day except for those occasions when I'm between a big game and I'm in the midst of some sort of movie marathon type of situation. I am having a bit of trouble platinuming Bayonetta though as one of the Alfheims is giving me a bit of trouble so perhaps my patience has worn down a bit over the years.

It was a glorious day when I got to put away my hoop and a stick in favor of an Intellivision :o Atlantis, Microsurgeon, Swords and Serpents, Dracula, Night Stalker, etc all made for good times!Bah. As others have already said, there's no such thing as "too old to play video games". I'm 30 years old and I intend to keep playing video games until the day that I go blind.nocoolnamejimcould still play rhythm games :P

Bayonetta is just a little unforgiving at times is the problem.
5 years older than TC. I still play games (video games) but far far less than I used to at his/her age. I'm just not as into them as I used to be. However if I find a really good one, that won't stop me from dropping lots of hours into it.
28. And until my body is incapable of doing so, I'll never be too old to play games. Do bear in mind that not all games are designed for kids and teens. Many on the PC especially are demanding of an adult intellect, especially when it comes to grand strategy or simulation. Fly a few missions in Falcon 4 or Jane's F/A-18, then come back and tell me that games are just for kids.
Jane??? Lol you play girl games, n00b :x28. And until my body is incapable of doing so, I'll never be too old to play games. Do bear in mind that not all games are designed for kids and teens. Which reminds me I need to start researching more information about Civilization V.28. And until my body is incapable of doing so, I'll never be too old to play games. Good call. I skipped 4 - just not enough time to play. I fear 5 may come to the same fate. Between Hearts of Iron 2 and Galactic Civilizations 2, I don't have much strategy gaming time left to spare.

The name always struck me as sort of odd, but that company released some of the finest military simulations I've ever played.
Its always the quiet ones who are the most violent.
I remember studying the Falcon 3.0 manual as a youngster. Whole chapters dedicated to learning how to use the radar. Also played the hell out of Jane's Longbow, great apache sim. I think my first flight sim was Aces of the Pacific. Took me and my friend 2 whole days to figure out how to edit my autoexec.bat and config.sys properly to get it to run, but when it finally worked it was glorious!28. Heh. Indeed. Although I wouldn't say it's the violence that appeals to me, but the complexity and the challenge. Just surviving a combat patrol early in the F/A-18 campaign is no small feat, especially if you don't chicken out and use the landing autopilot at the end.

Without going too far into being off-topic with my posts, IMO you missed out where Civ IV is concerned, though if you have time limitations that isn't surprising. The Civilization games eat up hours at just an amazing rate of speed. Haven't played Hearts of Iron 2, but was a bit disappointed by Galactic Civilizations 2. I didn't do enough research before purchasing. I was expecting a more story-immersive experience from that one and even though it was obviously a high quality strategy game, I couldn't set aside my disappointment with it not being what I expected.I remember studying the Falcon 3.0 manual as a youngster. You got into Falcon before I did - not until Allied Force did I notice it. Jane's IAF was my first taste of simulation, and I quickly got into the much better F/A-18 from there. One of my pals at university and I commited many, many hours to that great game. Then came Falcon. F/A-18 and Falcon AF remain two of my favourite simulation titles, and it appear it may be a long time before we get anything else comparable in the world of flight simulation, since the Fighter Ops project seems less and less likely to come to fruition as the months go by - truly a shame; they had a great concept in mind. Probably TOO ambitious.
