I had to do a project about the 2000 presidential candidates in 7th grade just before the election. that's pretty much when I started to give a damn about how our country is run.
I'm 18, almost 19. I've never been too interested in politics. I'm starting to in terms of presidential candidates, but beyond that, it doesnt interest me.
politics are a fraud. the 2 parties are opposanes not opposites. ITs like a wrestling match where the people pretend to hate eachother just for a show. Heres an example of some manipulation that goes on, at first the democrats were saying we need to get out of this war, bush is a idiot blah blah, now all thier fighting against is the troop increase. Its just one example of the mass manipulation that goes on by the elite in order to control what we belive is happening in the world today.
I don't know, started at about 13, I'm 16. I'm starting to wear off the interest. Rather than debating about politics and such, think of things I can change, not just dream about. I'm starting to lack interest in political parties, in my opinion, just more terms to learn, I think what we need to do, is just have people believe whatever they believe, and try to change other peoples minds, enough with labeling, that brings bias. For example, if Repubs started being pro-choice, many repub citizens would just because they're blind followers, same with Demos with other issues. Instead, we should try to believe what we believe, without names. I try to avert from politics, and rather, consider myself dealing with, "Social Issues", rather than uber political debate why republicans do this and demos do that. I don't like guns, I talk about the laws. Although it is politics, it's less biased. Rather, based soley on issues.
depends what you mean by "follow" if you mean know who's running for what, and their issues I was probably about 12. I probably didn't have that good of grasp on politics until I was 20 or so.
I remember Lewinsky-Gate had a big impact on me. It really made me hate republicans/right wing authoritarians and I've always hated Christians so I got involved in finding out why some people are so obsessed with making everyone in the world exactly like them. I was 14 or 15 then. Plus I've always been an advocate for legalizing cannabis/civil rights/other libertarian values since I was about 12 so those things sparked my interest in politics. I remember in 2000 I was 16 and even though I couldn't vote I did everything I could to support Al Gore because I hated Bush so much before he was even elected. He's pretty much done worse than I ever imagined possible. At least I tried...
