This is dead funny.

I still feel that the Comic-con counter protest was the best way of dealing with thr WBC. I do believe they trolled the WBC so hard they actually quit early.
The first choice would be to ignore them but the Comic Con counter protest would be the way to do. Make it funny.
how is the wbc the bad guys?
they are the ones following the letter of the gospel.
just saying.
seems to me if you were really religious you would just do what you are told to do by the word of god not be able to cherry pick what you like and don't like and still expect to get your reward.

i may be fishing but does that make it any less of an accurate observation?i just do not understand how the people that are the ones that are following the instructions in the bible are the ones that are ostracized for their "kooky" beliefs.
does anyone have an estimate of how much of the bible is to be followed and how much of it is bullshyt?
is it 30% of the bible that is bs?
is it 60%?
80%?
how much of the word of god do we get to say is stupid shyt that we ignore?

Please be trolling. If not, shame on you for being a waste of molecules
Mel Brooks said one reason he started comedy was to completely destroy Hitler's reputation as a ruthless, evil dictator and instead make him as much a laughing stock as possible.
It caught on so well we now compare pictures of him to cats, and there's a website dedicated to it.
If you want to destroy hate, you have to remain lighthearted, really.

I don't get it. Are you arguing that Christianity just sucks? As far as I'm concerned, what you just said is an argument against religion...

But they are cherry picking themselves. They are wearing two sorts of fabric together. The man shave their beards. They probably eat shell fish as well.
They are definitely not following the letter of the gospel, but cherrypick the convenient things.

well the stakes here are pretty huge. i'm just asking how much and what do we ignore and what do we follow?the book says if you fuk this up you get an eternity in the lake of fire so it just seems to me that it is only fair to have more clear instructions.
can we maybe get ikea to do a picture version?

i'm just saying it is strange that we have a holy book that is the literal word of god but if you don't like what it says you get to ignore it with impunity.does that make sense to anyone?

They follow what? Jesus never preached hatred and encouraged people not to judge. The WBC are the antithesis of what Jesus stood for.I believe they have said before that they themselves do not hate or judge anyone. They just want to make sure everyone knows that God however, does hate them. Makes sense doesn't it?
I suggest looking at them from a different angle. It is good to have the WBC around in the public light. A small one hopefully. They show people how ugly religious fundamentalism truly is.
Until people stop counter protesting they will continue showing up and making fools of themselves. They showed up to a rally in Topeka I was at. Everyone there ignored them and they left after 25 min. The best counter protest is ignoring them. ferrari2001
No one used to counter protest them before, it didn't stop them for years. They're probably never going to stop, at least now an alternative message is getting out as well. Anytome WBC gets media attention so do their opponents.
At this point, I don't think anything short of an outright ban on making WBC threads will stop people on here from talking about them. The way to deal with them is to stop making threads about them. The only time I ever hear about them is when someone makes a thread about them here...

I love the fact that Jesus counter protested them at Comic-Con.
