When he comes over, he always wants to play video games. When he plays, he always needs some sort of help. I don't mind helping him, but sometimes I don't feel like playing video games. I tell him "no" and he starts going ballistic and starts crying. What should I do?

Let him play video games. It's not like he comes over everyday (as it is implied in your post).

Duct tape his thumbs to his palms. Tell him it's for educational purposes - so he'd learn what it's like to be a dinosaur.

How old is he?

Also no matter how old he is, and no matter how he reacts he needs to learn that you have other jobs to do. Be assertive.

Just tell him to figure the games out himself. They aren't really hard things to figure out. Kids are pretty resiliant.

This. You could do the parents some help by teaching him to be independent (with you not helping him) and that life doesn't always give you what you want.

Or you could hit him.

Say that somebody stole your video games :D Might work if you hide the games in case your nephew walks in your house.

I don't understand why so many of these ideas involve lying. What's wrong with being honest with kids?

Just tell the kid that there's better things he could be doing, I mean, maybe try a boardgame or something with him, or watch a movie or something else. Or even go for a walk!
