If it makes you feel any better, there was this one overweight ugly girl that liked my old high school. I never showed any interest in her so the topic never came up.

Well dear sir, you are what we call in swedish "ful-snygg" its a term that means that the person in question is good looking but not too good looking and thus making lesser attractive creatures feel like they "have a shoot" at the "ful-snygga" person.
In conclusion you should have an operation by either yourself or an doctor, making you either uglier or more good looking, either way solving your so called problem.
