Which movie would you say is more enjoyable memorable whatever, overall a better movie.

Yes i know they are not similar.

Everyone once in a while DreamWorks makes something that meets or surpasses Pixar's work. It doesnt happen too often but it does happen. I think that ... Dragon was a way more enjoyable movie. It wasnt as complex as Up or better visually but i found it much more memorable and really enjoyed it.

I don't get what everyone is praising How to Train your Dragon for...it was cliched childish 3D animation fare..the exact same thing every studio BUT Pixar releases. There was no depth to it, and it had no lasting impact for me whatsoever..ever character aside from the main character was 2D, and the kids in particular were atrociously written.

UP is something that can be enjoyed by anyone and has every bit as much of an emotional punch as any movie with real actors in it. It also looked 10-times better, to boot.

Unfortunately i havent seen uh... HTTYD, but Up i have. And well, i liked that movie alot no alot! It had a real touching story, along with memorable characters, nice humour and well... it manages to put alot of nice fantasy in a modern setting. Also while... HTTYD is based on a book, Up is an original story.

I belive still that i willenjoy Up the most even if i see... HTTYD, but i think I will like that one aswell.

Up.

I really enjoyed How to Train Your Dragon. It's a step up for a Dreamworks Animation film, but my emotional response to the film was no where near to how amazed and blown away I was with Up when I first saw it.

How to Train Your Dragon is incredibly enjoyable. I think it easily beats Cars and Finding Nemo. Up, however, is in another league entirely. It's a masterwork. Saying Up is better than Dragon isn't an insult to the Dreamworks movie in the slightest. It's still really good. But it's not perfect, so it doesn't approach Up.

How To Train Your Dragon FTW. I actually found Dragon way more sad than Up.

How To Train Your Dragon would have to be amazing to better Up. Judging from the trailers that I've seen, its nowhere near.

I haven't seen either, but I decided to comment on this thread just to elicit the obvious in that "How To Train Your Dragon" sounds like the exact opposite of a lovable film for children.

I'm very intrigued by this movie. I want to see it as soon as I can. Hearing some people say it's as good as or even better than Up has me wondering.

The trailers do it a disservice, I think. It's very, very good & I don't think the adverts have conveyed that well.

I liked HTTYD better, I think PIXAR and UP are overrated to a degree. Although the execution was flawed I really liked the message.

HTTYD is just overrated. It's no different than any other generic 3D animation. It's fun, light hearted, and the dragons are really cool... But that was just it. The only thing that really stood out was the rave reviews it got... I'm sorry but Up was just a masterpiece...

I think the 10 minutes or so in Up where they chart the couples life together was probably the most touching scene I saw in a film last year. I haven't seen it but HTTYD would have to be amazing to top Up as far as i'm concerned.

Agreed, the beginning of Up was really something.

Anyways, I didn't think HTTYD was as good as Up but I enjoyed it more than Cars and Wall-E/
