How upset would you be, if your 18 year daughter started doing Adult Films?

I was talking to my friends last night about a girl we know who started doing adult films for a company in Florida. Her parents disowned her after finding out.

The conversation quickly turned into a debate about whether the parents were in the right, or in the wrong.

I would probably do the same thing if my kid did that. Some of my friends though were saying that it's her choice. It's "only" porn. It shouldn't be the parents buisness what their daughter does after turning 18. That nakedness is natural. That the only reason there isn't open sexuality is because our government is still mostly Christian.

It was a shocker for me. Do people really think this way? Whats your take?

If she was hot, I'd disown her. If she was ugly, I'd laugh and show all her friends the videos, then disown her.

I'd be upset about the high chance of her getting an STD, but if she really wanted to start doing adult films, I'd let her.

Disown her? No that's immature and childish. If she decided to star in "adult movies", then I'd sit down and talk to her about it, and find out why.jointed

I agree--sounds like the best action to take.

Anyway's, if she decides to stick with it, then there is nothing I can really do at that age. I personally don't see it as being anywhere near a good enough reason to disown her though. I feel that's ridiculous--I'd question my own parenting skills if anything and find out where the heck I went wrong with her.

I would try to encourage her to do something better with her life--continue to college and pursue a much more financially desirable and self-respecting career. If she has to be a porno flicking actor, then atleast be a highly intelligent one with a college education. But overall, I wouldn't knock her hustle if that's what she rather do.

I'd just make that big attempt to show her that I do care about the decisions she makes and that I truely want the best for her that life has to offer.
