I've had awesome experiences. Especially with French foreign exchange girl students... They always liked me. ;)
And I have a ton of Koreans at my school, and they are pretty awesome as well.

What about you guys? Tell us of your experiences with foreign exchange students.

I'm in a ministry called Campus outreach at my college. Me and a few of my friends like to talk to the international students and get to know them. I've learned a lot about Hinduism and Islam in the last semester. There are also many traditions I've learned about in other countries.

Yea, students at my school hating being called exchange students. They prefer international. Meh.

I became friends with most of them. They were mostly German and British, we had one Australian, and one Korean. My favorites were the Germans and British, Germans loved to party, and British.. well.. they were just pure hotness. And their accents are my favorite, and we had the best conversations ^_^.

I have seen some foreign people at my university who were from some program but I am not sure if it was a student exchange program. But they were students from another country.

Anyway, one stopped me to talk to me but I had to leave so I had to tell him I was in a hurry. He just gave me a leaflet advertising the program he participated in that brought him to Greece. It is some sort of "go-to-a-foreign-country-for-awesome-experiences" program.

In high school every year we had a bunch of foreign exchange students from Germany and Norway. In my Latin class in my senior year we had a foreign exchange student from Italy. I always found it interesting to talk to them, but I was never really close with any of them. The popular crowd tended to befriend them, haha.

Last year there was this girl in my P.E. class that I later find out was form Poland. Now I live in south Florida, what the heck was she doing in south FL, IDK? She only came for a year. She was very pretty and we would always play volley ball in P.E. I would always ask he questions about life in Poland and what she thinks of "America". The funniets thing I found out about her, was that she had never seen black people before. South FL is like 40% black, 40% latino, and 20% other. Again what the heck was she doing in South FL? Thats like finding a German in Mexico.

Yeah, it's actually funny, the last group of French kids that came started hanging out with the preppy kids at my school too. But one of the students (the prettiest one if I might add! lol) just started talking to me and she wants me to become a foreign exchange student over in France! haha

The exchange students at my old high school always banded together and never talked to the american kids really. There was this korean guy that i was really great friends with, and we ended up going to all the dances and prom together.

We rarely get any. This town has a horrible reputation when it comes to racism. There used to be a KKK HQ like right here way back when. All the racists are long gone now... I don't think we've ever had a black student before. We do have a few chinese and korean students and they've been here for years. They're hilarious. :P

The only foreign exchange student I've ever known well was the roommate from Hong Kong I had for fall semester last year. He and his friends (who were also Hong Kong exchange students) seemed pretty interested in the ongoing presidential election. I also found it pretty funny that he didn't listen to me the first night when I warned him that "Chinese" food in America isn't real Chinese food. A few weeks later he came into the room complaining about how he just had Chinese food and that it didn't remotely resemble anything that he ate back in China. The only things I didn't like about the guy was that he was on vent talking to his girlfriend back in HK all the friggin' time (and he seemed incapable of talking softly either), and the fact that he was a very noisy sleeper (snored and even sleep-talked sometimes).

Of all places they stationed themselves in a village with like 200 people (there's like 600 now, big improvement, I know).

The Chinies are awesome and I made a French girl laugh with my awful French speaking skills! :o She did the kiss on the cheek thing to me aswell!

But most of them iv'e met didn't like America much and were disapointed when they got here.

This one German guy was like...."This is the great America?" And then like left after a week.

Im English, and I have learnt that exaclty one third (1/3) of american exchange students actually do well and make friends. Unfortunately the other 2 normally get bullied by the majority of the year/grade. None of which i did by the way :)

We had an American, Canadian and a french one at my school. The American was pretty funny and we made fun of him a lot because of his silly accent. The canadian spoke french and was best friends with the french guy, both were great guys.

We have a lot of Asains at my school that just get sent by their parents to my school to get a good education (my school is crazy for math and everything related) They're all nice and I talk to them and have a friend or two.

Usually I become their best friend. I have been really close friends with at least two or three foreign exchange students. Unfortunately I've lost touch with all of them, I hope to see them again someday. One especially from Germany, he was a really funny guy, and we had a lot of good times together, the first time either of us got drunk we were together, and the first time I ever almost got arrested he was there. (I wasn't a bad kid, the cops were just profiling and I was unintentionally a smartass), but regardless I usually really like talking to foreign people about their culture and different aspects of their society.

In 11th grade I had a project with the Swede kid. The grades don't mean nothing unfortunately so we decided to BS the whole thing and other than that the kid was OK but teens in general are little "whatevs brah" hehe.

When I was an exchange student I had a pretty good experience with all the people in school they were all nice and fun. They didn't know how to dance though and in Latin America that's what we do best! And since I was a fun person I think they liked me a lot You don't really hate someone who makes you laugh :P
