How would you compare the OT community to other internet communities?

I've always thought this was one of the better forum communities I've been to. I think it has to do with the job the moderators do as well as the users. I always felt like the downfall of places like reddit is the almost complete lack of moderation. It leads to the place being to raunchy for my tastes. Anyway, what are all of your opinions? Obviously you all are here so you can't think this place is too terrible.

Off Topic is so so, there are some good people on here. I just wish the community here wouldn't hate religious people so much, merely stating that you believe in God marks you as a wanted man around here. Also many of the users have an arrogant attitude like they know everything, but in reality they are no better than the average person.

But Off Topic is FAR better than System Wars, that's for sure. Dumbest place on the internet.

While there are some conservative and moderate users on here, but for the most part you are correct. But most of the liberal users on here don't know what they are talking about, as a whole I would say only a few of them know what they are arguing about. The rest are just people trying to fit in around here.

Other than the rare post to the Steam game-specific boards, this is the only non-professional forum I post to. I guess I keep coming back here because of the randomness of the discussions and the loopy mentality that most of the best posters posses. And I don't mean that in a dispariaging way; you guys make me chortle more than most humor-specific sites.

Though I'm painfully aware that this forum is where memes go for their final beating.

I seem to recall a certain conservative not knowing a thing about the Supreme Court fresco relatively recently. I'd say most liberals on this board has a better grasp of reality than most conservatives here.

In terms of politics, its the most liberal community I've ever seen. As a whole though, it's by far the most pleasant, fun board I've been on. Great community.

I only frequent* one other website that has significant general discussions of reality. OT is definitely more active and more polite, but on the flipside we have way more idiots and way less highly educated and intelligent people. They have more liberals than we do, but their liberals are much louder than ours, and surprisingly enough their conservatives do not possess the same type of persecution complexes that ours do.

OT is very mild compared to the rest gaming forums, ie IGN's off topic board Teh Vesti. OT more dull, people tend to be more serious which would be a good thing if most of their opinions didn't completely suck.

You'd be surprised, I've been to (internet) communities that are more liberal.

I dunno, I think we are all not being in the right place at the right time in case of the alien invasion by Newt Gingrich.

But this community is okay because they don't realize it yet.
