Humans may have just invented time travel =O

According to the article, it would betheoretically possible for an object to arrive at its destonation before it ever leaves. So basicly, insome weird effect, it creates aform of time travel.If this is true, we might just have invented/made possibletime travel. Now, this could be just another bunch of nutjobs claiming to have done it. but think deeper for just a second, we might have just made possible time travel. Hmmmm the possibilities...:P.

I've always thought of that. My only theory against it is that the future hasn't happened yet.

actually if you fly around a black hole your matter will slow down so you'll go like a year in the future in just a day, or something like that.

If you could travel 1 hour ahead in time in a split second what would you find? would you really have skipped a whole hour in a split second or would you have been sleeping 1 hour that seemed a split second?

No it's destroyed and created in a split second. I dont know theres more to it than that, i only vaguely remember my physics teacher telling me.

if you ask me, time is a humans construct. the only thing that exist is here and now. therefore, we can not travle through it because it dose not exist.

lets say you live on the east coast in america. it is curently 9:05 of the time of this writting. it is only 9:05 because everybody agrees that. we just use time to have something to pace our lives too.

of course it's 9:06 now...

Time travel is, in theory, possible, but we're nowhere near doing it yet. I'm sorry, but the Telegraph is hardly a leading scientific journal, and the fact that these photons travelled a whole 3ft "instantaneously" isn't exactly proof positive. That article is one unsubstantiated claim, a paraphrased quote, and a metric ***-load of speculation.

Anyway, time travel would be completely uncontrollable. It's not just a matter of turning a dial and flicking a switch - it's got to do with the space-time continuum. It may (one day) be predictable, but not controllable.

Besides, you need HUGE amounts of energy. The only thing comparable to what we'd need is a black hole, and we have no way of getting close to one without getting sucked into it or getting zapped by the enormous amounts of cosmic radiation they emit.

Interesting aside: the gravitational forces of a black hole increase so quickly the closer you get its event horizon that you'd literally get stretched out as you near it. The process is called "spaghettification".

We already have time travel, but it goes in one direction and one direction only. Changing our relative velocity alters the rate of time passage. There is no way to go in reverse without first rewriting our understanding of physics.
