It doesnt matter "if we swap their positions", because the positions they were in made both of them what they are.
Change their hypothetical positions and you have two completely different people and most likely guy A will be exactly like guy B and vice versa. People are not born a way or another; they become what they are.
When were born, mentally we are all practically the same. Its how we are raised that creates out personalities. .Deadly_Fatalisuhhh are you sure about that? Alot of scientific research says otherwise. Things like humour, likability, good spirited. All types of personality can be linked to genes. Environment only stretches them to a certain degree. Everything is genes, looks, intelligence, even how easy going you are. Of course the environment can move these in either a negative or positive direction, we are not all born at the same local per se.

And I would say niether human being is 'better' they are mearly different.
Do they fit B? Or do they think B is a better fit than A? Do we really see ourselves honestly?Ah seems like many people fit guy B. I knew there would be many people like that as I have personally experienced how a few things can change you. Maybe I have a shot at beng a philosopher.:P

Most people identify themselves with guy B because from an aspect of whats wanted today in society (in a superficial level) - beauty, scoring with the chicks etc etc - they consider themselves unaccomplished due to low self-esteem.
When were born, mentally we are all practically the same. Its how we are raised that creates out personalities. If Guy B and Guy A switched places, Guy B would act like Guy A and Vice versa.Deadly_FatalisUnfortunately.. this is not the case.. for a time many people favored the idea that nurture influences our personality more than our genetics.. but that is being shown to be entirely false by scientific research into how genetics work. Most of us have predetermined personality traits.. and those traits can be influenced by what we're exposed to in life.. but more on a physical level than a mental one.. specific chemicals, lack of oxygen, poor nutrients.. etc.. Generally your personality is limited to your specific genetics and can never exceed that or become something else. But don't take my word for it.. do the research yourself.. don't bother with any information older than 5 years. Preferably over the last 2-3 would be best.
That is a very bold statement and needs mountains of evidence to be taken seriously... I agree. People are all to quick to jump onto the genome bandwagon as an answer to everything from eating habits to wealth. Take a look at feral children and tell us that behaviour has nothing to do with upbringing.[QUOTE="EMOEVOLUTION"]Generally your personality is limited to your specific genetics and can never exceed that or become something else.Anonymous_2

Guy B is the better one.

I agree he is a better human being, but Guy A will be more successful in life.

Self-confidence is a rarity, and isoften achieved while having insecurities one time in ones life.
PS: I didnt say everyone, now did I?

Your perception =/= fact. While your perception is that most people dont admit the mistakes to the point where that evolves into a complex of them thinkinf of themselves as the prototype which appears nice in order to cover that up.Well, your perception is much more far fetched and in any case in the worst of cases (for me) as invalid as mine. ;)

Then why is it that two siblings can have vastly different personalities? Seeing as they'd be raised in very similar conditions, if it was as simple as nurture then we'd expect to see siblings always behaving the same way.
