I was talking in a park near my house with my good friend we were just walking around and we were going to eat some dinner. There is a nice pathway which is popular that we took a walk on, it's beautiful right on the beach with a rocky beach below that no one goes on cause well it's so rocky it sucks. I'll put a picture of what this type of beach looks like. The water was really crappy today for some reason, it was pretty rough and the waves were crashing against the rocks like no tomorrow. It wasn't huge but it was still nothing you'd swim in.
My friend and I were walking on the path and there is a nice pine forest right beside the path. It's beautiful and even though it was cloudy out today it was still a great walk and it smelt lovely with all the pine in the air. I was just walking when all of a sudden this dog lunges at me from the woods, I almost had a heart attack it scared the hell out of me and it bit my hoodie, it didn't do anything to my arm luckily but it left a deep bite mark.
This dog was a pitbull I think, I'll post a picture but it looked like it. It could have been a mix though I know jack about dogs I have a cat. When the dog bit my arm I panicked like no tomorrow and threw my arm on the wall (which is there to protect the walkers from falling on the beach, a lot of old people visit the park). The dog flew off and it made a pretty loud yelp. It landed on the rock and sort of jumped up and landed in the water and the waves crashed on the poor thing and I'm sure it died. The waves pushed the dog into the rocks but I didn't see much but that.
I felt really bad and I still do. The few people there came to my help and said not to feel bad. A nice lady took me to a clinic and I got all the attention I needed. It's unlikely the dog had rabies but I am taking no chances.
Should I feel bad for what I did or was it something that had to be done. I feel terrible because it may have just been a hungry or stray dog...
I know it's a lot to read but I'd appreciate the advice.
Thats an Example of the beach and below is what the dog looked like
