Although there isn't as much Green Lantern fighting as I wanted, overall I say it's a good summer movie. What did you think of it?

I think it looks bad but I'll still go see it, I like Ryan Renolds, plus I'll just wait for $5 movie Tuesdays so I'm not wasting $12 a ticket, besides I've pretty much seen everything I want to see in the theaters right now.

I thought it was so bad. I don't mind Ryan Renolds and they surrounded him with a good cast, but wow, they just couldn't execute it. So many cheesy moments, fight scenes that ended too quickly, and the most stale love story I've seen in a while. By the last scene, I heard the crowd just moan in agony cause they dragged that love story on for way too long.

I think I'll wait for the DVD release. Maybe it's the effects, I don't know...but it looks a little too hokey for me.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't even watch it if it was on TV for free right now. It just looks flat-out terrible to me, primarily due to the abuse of CG.

I'm going to skip that one entirely. I've never been into the Green Lantern comics, and the trailers have done nothing to make me interested.

Just came back from the theatre. I thought it was pretty good actually. Lot's of funny moments, some great action sequences and the CGI wasn't as horrific as people thought it would be. Frankly, the CGI looked pretty good imo. Good movie overall.

I wish I could enjoy bad movies. I love going to the movies and seeing them in theatres, but I can't sit through a bad movie and go "well, the CG is cool" and enjoy it. I've tried to do that, and I fail every time and end up feeling totally defeated afterwards.

It used to be there was a really good mix of great movies and box office hits. But ever since 2007, when There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men rocked the film world, there have been less and less worthwhile movie to see.

I have seen 1 new movie this year, The Tree of Life, and while it is definately something new and original, it too often slips into pretentiousness and is far from great.

I can't believe how hard it is to find movies with decent character development and plot. I mean the best movie last year by far was freaking Winters Bone, a budget indie flick.

It was not a great movie, nor was it a terrible movie(as some critics would lead you to believe). The special effects are the most impressive thing about the movie.

It was alright. Not the best but definitely not bad. I just found Blake Lively's acting rather forced. Also, the movie transition seems poor. For a superhero film, I felt the action wasn't much. But the effects and faithfulness to the comics is a big plus. :)

Green Lantern was better then the critics made it out to be. The movie was about Hal Jordan and him becoming the Green Lantern, so it was important for him to shine. WB also did a great job introducing the audience to the Green Lantern corp other stuff. I cant wait for the sequel to be made, we will then see more of the corp.

Wasn't terrible, but it could have been better.

And I still say that the guy who played Hal's father in the movie should have played Hal Jordan. Looked and acted the part better than Raynolds.

The sequel will be better since they are done introducing the audience Green Lantern and its corp. Next movie it will be directly to the action along with the rest, like Kilowat and such.

I'm a huge fan of what Geoff Johns has been doing with the character but this movie fell far from the mark. The chemistry between Lively and Reynolds was non existent, and their scenes together felt awkward and thrown in for the sake of having a romantic demographic. Because of their insistence at having a strong romantic element to the story, the movie was awkwardly paced, things happened at awkward times and felt rushed or unevenly paced. Also, the movie was 15 minutes short of being 2 hours long...they could have taken a few minutes to establish a stronger element of the Green Lantern Corps and actually have Hal up there for longer and explain a bit more about the corps, rather than throwing it all into the intro. It had potential but weak writing, poor casting, scene organization, and a weak story line killed it.

Kilowog... He's not a measure of electricity.. But the second movie will probably be better because of Sinestro, who was excellent in this movie. I thought this movie was going to be about Sinestro falling from the corps when I first heard of it...hopefully they do it better.

I feel they can give more information about the Corps in the second movie then focusing on Sinestro's fall.

I think it would be weaker if they did that in the sequel. Sinestro's fall from the Corps should be what the 2nd movie is about. Maybe they recruit John stewart or Guy gardener in the 2nd film and about half through Hal jordan can be seriously injured by Sinestro and its up to (which ever, doesn't matter too much) guy gardener or john stewart to stop sinestro. During the last 20 minuets hal jordan can be better and defeat sinestro. Thats just my idea off of the top of head. Green Lantern wasn't that bad. It had its moments of good but it had its moments of bad as well. It felt like this is just an introduction to a series and a setup for a sequel. I do agree that the sequel will be much better than this. (Hopefully)

Yeah, seriously, the introduction to the Corps should have happened in this one. This was supposed to serve as the background information for the story which is why they went with Hector before the Sinestro story line.
